Well, the whole reason I asked this question is because I had never heard the teaching before, so I didn't know if it was correct. I thought if it was correct then it was a good explanation for why I have always been so uncomfortable with James. I feel like I am under the law with James. Arthur, please tell me what you think of Paul Washer. Our small group watched one of his video series and everyone seemed to think it was great. I wanted to run. Also, who do you recommend as solid Bible teachers to find online? My friend's husband is unsaved and she is asking me for ideas. When she asked me that, all I could think of was prophesy teachers! Well, Paul Washer is a Calvinist. So, he brings all the standard Calvinist problems with him. I personally can't stand listening to him. I find it like nails on a chalkboard. Perhaps it is his whiny tone in part (could just be me) but his extreme legalism is what gets me. That's all part of the package in Calvinism. They figure that if you are the elect then you need to prove you are. How do you do that? By works, of course. So, you need to be on the works treadmill. Really it becomes a sneaky backdoor works based salvation. That being said, I have friends that love him. I can't figure out why but we agree to disagree. This is my honest answer. I hate being so negative. 🙁 I can't wait for heaven when negativity will be gone and I won't be grumpy, anymore. :yahoo: Adrian Rodgers, J. Vernon McGee, Andy Woods and David Hocking are a few that I would recommend. I find Charles Stanley to be pretty solid, as well. The first two have passed away but they have lots of materials online.
