I so agree Arthur! This is a false Ruckmanite teaching that needs to be avoided. You are right to reject it. Here's a quote from Ruckman teaching this heresy. The Old Testament saints did not know what the New Testament saint knows, but Romans 4 makes it plain that the Old Testament saints were saved by faith without works. Like Abraham, they believed God and it was counted unto them for righteousness. I will check out the series So Ready suggested on James! I never heard of the Ruckmanites. Very interesting. But the Book of James starts off with this salutation … “James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.” And Hebrews … its not clear who wrote the book … talks about the Levi priests blood sacrifice was never finished. Rivers of blood flowed daily from the Temple of Jerusalem as one animal sacrifice after another was slain for the sins of the people. The High Priest could never sit down because his job was never completed. But Jesus’ sacrifice is once for all … His blood covers everyone’s sin and after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; and the Hall of Faith Hero’s Chapter 11 list some of the popular Old Testament believers … by faith they had a good report. I guess I’m going to have to reread these 2 books again …
