It took 8 minutes instead of one minute, causing Kim Jong Un to become a vegetative. There are many reports regarding Kim's situation. Looks like this report is closest to the truth. Doesn’t make sense medically, sorry. I have been part of plenty of cardiac caths and open hearts as well. Now a truer scenario, the MD went to place stents due to multiple blockages or reinfaracting coronaries. FYI if a patient has three vessel disease (the three main arteries that feed the heart - Left main, left circumflex, right coronary - it’s an automatic CABG to save life- only option, that’s a cracked chest (even a second time) with coronary artery by-pass graft CABG). I digress, back to placing stents. Lots of things can go wrong, a biggy is accidentally severing the Aorta, it happens, not as often in today’s world but certainly a probability and size is not a factor. I know probably greater than 20 cardiologist and probably at least 10 cardio thoracic surgeons, they are like machines, never known one to be like this guy is described. They are typically the most arrogant and confident of physicians. They seem to be passing the fall out on the MD and not on the truth, this dictator was in very bad health, obese, smoker (coronaries are clamped related to this nasty habit), DM, CAD, PVD, HTN, COPD, basically pick a disease process, he probably had a bad liver (from all the socki-liquor-) he drank regularly. He probably blew a clot, or had yet another heart attack and they just couldn’t resuscitate him, the brain can go 15 min max without o2 before you start losing cells, then it begins a neuron net shut down, piece by piece. Many times, seizures occur, we lose brain cells with seizure activity. The brain is a magnificent machine, it can often “re-wire” with strokes, but we don’t always win in medicine. God has an appointed time for each person, we work hard at speeding that up with poor lifestyle choices. Just my opinion! If they cracked the chest to correct “fix” the heart. If they used either the femoral or brachial arteries to access his heart to “stent” him, it would not have affected the brain, especially if they had placed him on MAC anesthesia to force O2 into the lungs, cardium, and brain. Size is not the factor until recovery, liberating a smoker from a ventilator is more difficult than individuals realize. In recovering a person who is in the physical shape as this guy looks to be, would easily have set him up for a follow up heart attack, which is not uncommon post stenting or even CABG.
Unless, the anesthesiologist screwed up and did not oxygenate him well.
Yes he was Obese, but I have successfully taken care of 700 lb patients and greater (one patient actually weighted 405 kg). (It’s a challenge, no doubt), and Kim boy was not that weight, looks to be about 400 lbs or 182 kg.
