📢 Forum Update - Hello everyone! I've made an improvement to the forum that should make following active discussions much easier. Beginning today, forum topics will display the most recent replies first (while keeping the original topic post at the top), so you no longer have to navigate through multiple pages to find the latest conversation. This change also helps improve the browsing experience in long-running discussions with many pages of replies. If you notice anything that doesn't seem to be working correctly or have any feedback, please let me know. — Richard G. I was able to share the Gospel with my mom and her friend Chris who I just met today at the senior living center. I couldn't believe the opening the Lord gave me. We were just sitting there chatting about food, other people, the weather etc. and in my heart I asked the Lord if I was to witness to Chris somehow because I already knew that my mom was closed to hearing the Gospel. So I asked her some things about herself. She had a degree in geology and started talking about ancient civilizations. Bingo! I asked her if she knew much about giants and that really got things moving because then I was able to tie into the Bible. Eventually we talked about organized religion and I was able to say how religion has added works to the simplicity of what we need to do to be sure we will go to heaven. Chris mentioned that there were many roads to heaven. I told her I disagreed, and I shared the Gospel with my mom right there to hear it too! It all looked like Chris was the one that brought up the subject, not me. Wonderful. Please pray for their salvation. Thanks, Blue That was very brave, Patricia. Being in a group like that, they could have all ganged up on you. On the other hand, they all heard your message! I've had times where I couldn't find any angle leading into the salvation message but other times wasn't even looking for it and all of a sudden find myself in a full on witnessing conversation. In the middle of it I'll just marvel that it's even taking place and it almost seems like I'm not in control of the conversation and actually, given how it always goes I know I am not. I think the Holy Spirit speaks through us when the time is right. I think we should always be willing servants and always looking for an opening but I know there are times when He just takes over and it goes so wonderfully. Doesn't mean these people drop to their knees right there but i know a serious seed was planted or perhaps watered. I agree with Blue, "It is very intimidating to share with friends and family for fear of rejection. But like Churchgal said on another thread, we are running out of time and we need to take the risk." Yes, in my painting group here in the very liberal San Francisco Bay Area, I have been trying to plant a few seeds. Last Tuesday, they were talking about current events and I said, "These things are happening because it's the End Times." Someone answered, "You mean like Armageddon? Let's not speak of such depressing things!" So, I guess next time I will have to take another approach. Maybe say that Jesus is about to come for his bride. Way to go Lee with sharing the Joy of the Lord at that Greek restaurant! :good: Yep, the others listening in wanted to know of the hope that you have. Great testimony!
