Over a Dozen Female Athletes File Lawsuit Against NCAA for Allowing Men to Compete in Women’s Sports:
On Thursday, a group of female athletes filed a lawsuit against the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Thursday over their decision to allow “transgender” athletes to compete against them and use locker rooms for women.
Thelawsuitwas filed by the Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS) on behalf of over a dozen female athletes. It alleges that the NCAA violatedTitle IX,a federal statute that guarantees equal opportunity for men and women in college sports.
It seeks to prohibit biological males from competing against female athletes. Further, it demands the NCAA revoke awards received by “transgender” athletes who competed against women in tournaments that were governed by the organization.
UC Berkeley Parents Turn to Private Security To Protect Students From Raging Crime on Campus:
Parents of students at the liberal haven of the University of California at Berkeley have been forced to turn to private security to protect their children on campus.
One parent, Sagar Jethani, toldCBS Newsparents took matters into their own hands after the university ignored their repeated requests to protect students.
“The fact is if they’re not going to act, despite repeated pleas from parents and students to take more substantial action, then we’re going to act,” Jethani said. “We’re going to do what needs to be done to keep our family safe.”
Safe Bears reports a 20 percent increase in local robberies, trespassers gaining access to residence halls, threats, and violence at Berkeley.
@perhapstoday It's not just Berkeley. Crime is exploding everywhere in urban areas. Even my suburban neighborhood (also in California) has had a rash of home break-ins and car thefts. The police will come eventually, but they won't even dust for fingerprints. If you were not home, they will tell you, "It was a victim-less crime," no matter the damages or how much was stolen. So, neighborhoods are paying to hire "private security guards." I don't believe these private guards carry weapons or have any authority to arrest criminals. They just drive around in their well-marked cars or park in conspicuous spots to try to deter crime. And they ask individual households to pay. First, it was going to be $75 a month per house but I guess a lot of people didn't sign up so now I think it went up to about $160/mo. I refused to pay. That's what our taxes are for. Our cars were broken into. We were home at the time, watching TV, 10 or 15 feet away. Thankfully they didn't break the windows. They had their own keys to open the car doors.
Yikes! Patricia, that is really scary! I will certainly keep you in prayer for protection. You also have to pray daily that the Lord sends angels to guard and surround your home, your vehicles and protection as you go about your daily life in the city. And He will answer! Back in 2014 - 2015 I was being harassed and stalked by 2 Jamaican foreigners. I kept filing complaints to the cops and they didn’t do anything. It was frustrating and scary. So I started praying daily for protection and to have guardian angels surrounding me. It worked! As I drove into the post office parking lot they were standing around the steps area and looked up at the top of my vehicle with fear and then they ran to their cars and took off. I can just imagine what they saw … a whole host of angels? I never had a problem after that .. they left me alone. 😂
The power of prayer … prayer changes things so no need to pay high cost of security, just pray and ask for some guardian angels and round the clock service.
@terry Thanks! Yes, we didn't even hear them. Our neighbor dropped by the next day and said he found one car's registration on the side of the road. They left fast, even left the car doors open. They tossed everything around and only took a little cash that we keep for tolls, etc. Later my husband was going to his drawing class and found out the bag with his sketchbook inside was gone. They probably thought it was a laptop. My husband was still upset; it held two years' worth of drawings!
@patrician That's scary. Thank God you are Ok. Plead the blood of Christ over your home and belongings.
I used to plead the blood of Christ over the homes of family members. As I was visiting my brother years ago and we were going for a walk in the neighborhood, he suddenly said to me: "you know we had so many break ins in the neighborhood, but thankfully nobody came near our home"
@heidi Thank you, Heidi. I will. The house above us and one below us were broken into as well as several others. Ours was not. Now everybody has security systems and lights and recording cameras. I will ask God for His protection.
Lawsuit Filed Over School Orders Students Not Pray Together:
‘Don’t let me see you do that again,’ coach threatened track team members
The American Center for Law and Justice has confirmed it has filed a federal lawsuit over a school’s orders that students not gather together for prayer.
“While you would hope that this would be a clear mistake on the part of the coach – one immediately corrected by school officials – it was not,” the legal team said of the actions by the Indiana school district.
“Even after reporting the incident to the school administration, the matter remains unresolved. The students were subsequently instructed that they must not be seen praying together as a group...
The school, the ACLJ said, ignored a demand letter dispatched to the superintendent insisting that the ongoing constitutional violations be stopped.
“The First Amendment undisputedly protects students’ right to pray or engage in other religious speech or activities before, during, or after school and at school events, including sporting events,” it explains.
New research advocates for humans to increase consumption of snakes as a food alternative to reduce greenhouse gases.
Research published inScientific Reportslast week noted that "python farming appears to offer tangible benefits for sustainability and food systems resilience."
The authors of the study claim that python farming "can not only complement existing livestock systems, but may offer better returns in terms of production efficiencies."
The paper's lead author noted that pythons rapidly grew to "slaughter weight" within their first year. He also stated that pythons produce far fewer greenhouse gases than traditional livestock.
