Those that humble themselves shall reap a reward regardless the day!  Indeed, thoughts might waft back to those who have left.  But when the reality of being weighed in the balances of God and being found wanting I expect will solicit but two responses.

Firstly, while facing the loss of someone important in their lives, the weight of being "left behind",  dodging the judgments of God and suffering the anger of Satan, one might still humble themselves leaving room in their hearts for God!

Secondly, self pride will rule.  Unable to relinquish lifestyle choices, anger will grow.  Anger towards God specifically.  Rather than contrition and confession, blame shifting and justification will force many to with stiff necks oppose God Almighty!  Choosing to dance with the devil.  Consigned to the belief that  time has run out and all is lost, still unable to understand God's love, grace and forgiveness.  Finding no room in their hearts for God, self judgment will seem more attractive than facing God's judgment.

Most of this will largely be motivated by self deceptions as well as demonic deceptions!  God and Christians will be characterized as evil and the Jews will be scapegoated receiving the brunt of blame.  IMHO!

Seems to me that many will just simply follow in the footsteps of Esau as well!  Forsaking an eternal "birthright" for immediate gratification.  Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die!

And for those who have already been turned over to their own reprobate minds will be unable to and unwilling to entertain salvation at any cost!  Already being dead men walking!

My longing is to go home this year. The sooner the better.
