I was particularly turned off by a few people there who seemed to look down on me since I knew no French. That was back in 1987. It was the first and last time I was there. The meeting I attended was held at a downtown hotel that summer, and what I recall most was that someone could survive the winter there without even going outside. All buildings seemed to have access to extensive underground transportation and shopping malls. That's what little I know, except that it's named for "Mount Royal," found on the nearby island there. I really prefer to see the Royal Mountain that Jesus intends for Zion someday soon. :yahoo: I think it's disgusting when people don't talk to someone or look down on them cause they don't speak French. MWS, do you mean there are passages that get to you to malls and other places? Quebec city is so beautiful. I love it because it feels like you're in Europe. It is one of the top 10 destinations for Christmas. I haven't been there but will go there sometime. Heidi, here are some links re: Montreal: I have to say, I was amazed at their Metro! (last video) https://schmidtmovers.com/2021/01/29/living-in-montreal/ My only experience was downtown, and only two days long. I rode in a shuttle to and from the airport. I don't know much about the extent of the underground facilities, but I assume its only a small percentage of where most folks reside, commute, and work. It felt just like an enormous shopping mall to me, covering "downtown." Kolleen, thank you so much for the videos. I loved them. Very helpful. What caught my attention is that it is OK to be weird in Montreal. Looks like the perfect place for me. When I saw that first video, I was ready to pack my bags and go.
I can't handle the subway anymore. That won't help me.
