They released him to go home but will call him back for the surgery so apparently he is well enough to be let out of critical care, so that is a blessing. Also, he went in with no insurance and you can just imagine what that means............BUT GOD. So the hospital finance group does their thing and what came out of it was that Medicaid is going to cover him and retroactive to last year. Also, somehow the VA found out, perhaps through the hospital, and are giving him full VA benefits even if he is not treated at a VA facility. Also, if that is not enough, Social Security found out that he never file (he is 71 this January. I'm definitely getting old  ) and have activated his SS benefits retroactive to last year and have already issued a check to him for $10,000 and $1,700/mo for the rest of his life so he doesn't have to worry about working. Praise GOD!!! So amazing!!! Knowing him, though, we'll have to chain him to a chair because he doesn't believe in not working, but I know his boss and he won't let Darrell come back to work until he is cleared by his doctor. He still hasn't had the surgery he needs (grapefruit sized aneurysm on his aorta) but he is set and ready to go. If you guys knew Darrell you would know the most upbeat, nicest guy who is so thankful to God for the smallest things. He lives a modest life but lives the richest life in the way that he takes pleasure in every day and his gratitude for each one. When I was going through my deepest and darkest days of depression a few years ago it was Darrell I would call to be lifted up. He just has that gift. So THANK YOU all for your prayers for him. He is such a blessing to me. I cannot thank you all enough but please continue to pray for him until his surgery (don't have a date yet). Should be within the next two weeks.

Father I don't even know Darrell but I love his sweet spirit and his uplifting ways and encouragement. I can't wait to meet this brother.

Lord we ask that You will keep Darrell in Your safest and tenderest care and may he come through surgery safe and well.

Thank You Lord for Darrell who is grateful for everything for all You have given him and will do for him. Please bless him abundantly, Lord. Asking in Jesus mighty and wonderful name, Amen. :thankyou :prayer-hands:

So God went above and beyond for Darrell and we can trust that he will see him through the rest of it. This type of surgery is pretty common, (it is not without risks, this is true), but they have progressed well in this arena. For some folks, they can go in to repair through a less obtrusive route. Tell him to keep calm and trust! No getting the blood pressure up! No climbing any mountains or watching the Super Bowl :mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:

Lord, please further grant Darrell the needed surgery, or a miraculous healing of this aneurysm. Open the doors of heaven for either one Lord in Your timing and will. May Your hand be upon his body for perfect peace and calm, with his eyes on You alone. Thank You for the amazing blessings You have showered Darrell with, and thank You for Your amazing hand at work on His behalf in Jesus Name.
