Come on now! You know you named him after the LA Dodgers! ?

Glad he’s doing better!

So what did the Vets determine that it was?

They feel he was poisoned   and also he had fluid in his lungs.  They asked if he chewed an inhaler or got into my meds.  I said are you telling me a plastic inhaler is in his stomach???  They said no but the toxic report shows it could be an inhaler or meds?   I said I got both inhalers in my purse and there are no teeth marks on it so he didn’t chew it.    I don’t even use them … they are expired .. I take a mucinex pill if I feel an asthma attack happening and get instant relief.  So its still a mystery of what he ate … he was chewing my sneakers 2 weeks ago and pulled the lining out … sneakers are made in China.  I’m still wondering if they sprayed a pesticide on the apple skin (even though I washed the apple) and that disagreed with him?  I normally remove the skin of the apple before chopping it into pieces.  The only thing I can think of is he is famous for pulling small papers/envelops out of my paper shredder and running away with it and chewing and swallowing them if I don’t get there in time.  Also fun size candy wrappers and the clear wrappers on these candies he will often want as well and have to quickly remove from his mouth.

I’m wondering if these just didn’t show up on the x-ray?   They claim they don’t see any blockage.  I did wash the hardwood floors with a Palmolive dish detergent soap instead of Dawn. He sometimes licks the floors.   About 3 weeks ago he got a hold of a box of nerds and he ate a couple of small pieces before I could take it away.

They asked if he ate any live plants I said nope … he only likes to smell the flowers … but he loves to chew on plastic flowers, yarn, ribbon, thread and chews the pillows and then pulls the stuffing out and has it in his mouth and I have to pull that out of him.  He will not hunt for mice but he loves to pee on them … and only concerned about killing black flies in the house … he times his jumps and captures them in mid air and gives it one chew and then spit their carcass on the hardwood floor for me to sweep up.

When I asked what toxins did they find in the blood report they were vague and wouldn’t tell me.  So I can’t even narrow down what he could have ingested.  He just had a field day when I was asleep and failed to put him back in his playpen to stay out of trouble.

He is still not eating … so this really concerns me because they claim he should be eating by now.  I called the vet and have an appointment at 5:00 pm for emergency care today.  He looks at me like he is spaced out and was trying to vomit just a little while ago but there is nothing inside him.  I can’t get him to take his  meds. He gives it one chew and spits out the pills.

We still need prayer for his healing.  Thanks, prayer warriors.

My mother always would use butter to get the dogs to take their meds. Even if they were unwilling, it would eventually get in there.

Worst comes to worst, the vets can administer the meds.

Since your pup has a tendancy to eat everything and I know this won't be popular, consider getting it a muzzle for it's own safety.

Thank you … this is a local vet is only 15 miles away not the one in NY.  I’ve decided I’m not going back to the NY hospital.  If this local vet can’t fix the problem and suggests I bring him back there … I will try to take care of him a few more days at home and if he doesn’t pull thru … I will have no other choice but to have them put him to sleep.  I just can’t afford the cost (another hospital stay) and my stress level is thru the roof right now. Cry
Surely the rapture is soon and I will just see him on the other side??

Makes me wonder why God created the animal kingdom!?

Was it for His pleasure, or ours!?  Or was it done to show how different we are!?  Maybe He couldn’t help Himself!?

Either way man was chosen to reflect God and receive His heart!

For we are the crown of His creation, each of us more valuable than all the angelic host!!!

Almighty God, You are able. Please raise up this pup from the mat. Help it to pass any poison and help it regain its appetite. Have compassion and mercy on this companion animal.

Give wisdom and knowledge to the vet, strength and a fighting spirit to Dodger and peace and strength to Geri. We pray this in Jesus' Mighty Name, Amen. :prayer-hands:
