A local law enforcement officer reportedly encountered the shooter moments before he opened fire on former President Donald Trump during a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday. Two law enforcement officials told the Associated Press (AP) that a local police officer had encountered the shooter, who the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified as being Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. A local law enforcement officer reportedly climbed up to the roof of a nearby building where Crooks had positioned himself with a direct line to the former president. Upon encountering Crooks, the officer reportedly went back down the ladder, after which he [Crooks] “quickly took a shot toward Trump,” the anonymous officials said, according to the AP. For RFK Jr., security on the campaign trail is paramount — and personal. His father, Robert F. Kennedy, was assassinated on the campaign trail in June 1968, and his uncle, President John F. Kennedy, was assassinated in November 1963. Despite that tragic history, the Biden administration denied granting RFK Jr. Secret Service protection at least five times, most recently in March. The shooter was exposed ahead of time by members of the crowd, who saw him with a weapon, and they shouted to the snipers of the police station and signaled to them. If the crowd, which is on the ground saw him, it is clear that the detective saw him, since their snipers were found on the roof, right in front of the shooter, and he was on a white roof, and very conspicuous in the area. So basically law enforcement let the shooter get on the roof, knew about him being there before Trump got on stage, and then they let him open fire on President Trump and his supporters. This editor recognizes the inherent power of the image and believes that it helps Trump. This is the way progressives in news rooms across the country think. They are terrified of anything that can be seen as helping Donald Trump.
