Charlie Kirk’s Family Signals Intent to Sue Utah Valley University, School’s Police Department, Chief Jeffrey Long, Others:

The family of slain Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk has signaled their intent to sue Utah Valley University and the school’s police department, among others, citing “a series of stunning failures and reckless decisions” that ended in the conservative icon’s assassination last year.

Dangers posed by accessible rooftops on campus went unaddressed — despite repeated warnings — Turning Point USA (TPUSA) said in a statement to Breitbart News, citing a text exchange between TPUSA staff and Utah Valley University Police Department Chief Jeffrey Long.

Only six campus police officers were assigned to the TPUSA event, where “thousands of attendees” would be present, “despite requests for additional officers,” the claim stated, adding that the university also failed to monitor the event in real time.

10 Ways LGBTQ+ Ideology Is Reshaping The Church:

Walk into certain churches today and you may encounter something that would be almost unrecognizable to Christians who worshiped in the same denominations only a generation ago.

Rainbow flags surround the sanctuary. Pastors preach in Pride-colored vestments. Worship services feature queer hymns and transgender themes. Glitter replaces traditional ashes. Rainbow bread appears at Communion. Special ceremonies celebrate transgender name changes, while Pride Month brings its own sermons, liturgies and church celebrations.

These aren't simply changes in decoration or attempts to make visitors feel welcome. Taken together, they reveal how deeply LGBTQ+ ideology has worked its way into the worship and theology of parts of the modern church.

Jesus calls people to repentance, transformation and a new identity in Him. The church's message was never supposed to be that every desire, identity or cultural movement must be affirmed. It was that every one of us must ultimately surrender ourselves to Christ.

China Launches Ambitious National Plan to Reverse Birth Rate Collapse:

The director of China’s National Health Commission (NHC) announced during a press conference Monday that the Communist Party will be investing heavily in programs intended to raise the birth rate, particularly in expanding access to pediatric care and child care for working families.

The ambitious program is part of the Communist Party’s “15th Five-Year Plan” to improve the strength of the state generally, which emphasized the need to encourage Chinese citizens to marry and start large families. China has documented a dramatic decline in its birth rate over the past decade, defying the government’s decision to do away with the Mao Zedong-era “one-child policy” in 2015 and ultimately allowing families up to three children before forced government abortions and sterilization.

Despite the legal approval to reproduce, many Chinese citizens have foregone marrying and building families. China’s birth rate hit record lows in 2025, according to official government statistics, and China lost its status as the world’s most populous nation to India in 2023. Complicating factors is the reality of a much more substantial male than female population – estimates suggest China is home to about 33 million more men than women – as a result of parents killing girl babies during the “one-child policy” era to try again for a more prestigious son.

...the state newspaper reported “nearly 5.35 million fewer kindergartners in 2023 than in the previous year.”

“Some people believe that marriage and childbirth are only private matters, and up to each individual. This view is wrong and one-sided,” an anonymous Party member told the leftist New York Times at the time.

Peter Schweizer: ‘Kids Are Getting Dumber’ in the Age of AI — Discipline Is the Solution, Not Money & Gadgets:

Throwing money at the education system has not raised student achievement, and the looming rise of artificial intelligence won’t help students who can’t read and write well enough to manage it. In a world where knowledge is the key to future success, students today suffer from what experts call “hasty reading.”

“If you’re raising kids and they’re going to public schools, you might want to move to Mississippi for high-quality public education,” says investigative journalist Peter Schweizer. “There is lots of chaos going on in the American education system today, and we’re going to explain why Mississippi is kicking butt.”

In what has been called the “Mississippi Miracle,” the state has rapidly improved its K-12 student performance in ten years through statewide policy, curriculum, and teaching changes. Once considered worst in the nation, today Mississippi ranks ninth in fourth-grade literacy, a key metric for student preparedness in later schooling.

They did it by raising standards, not lowering them, and by shifting the focus of reading instruction to phonics, vocabulary improvement, and measuring reading comprehension. And de-emphasizing technology.

According to a new report, other states suffered learning losses, lower scores, and learning loss caused by the pandemic and lost school days.

“Most troubling is the decline in the very skills that matter most in the AI age: evaluating information, making connections across multiple sources, and thinking critically about what we read,” says Schweizer on the most recent episode of The Drill Down podcast. “The report is basically saying kids are getting dumber.”

“They call this trend, which they noticed, ‘hasty reading,’” says co-host Eric Eggers. “It’s a trend where students read quickly, but inaccurately. And it has doubled. Nearly ten percent of kids now read quickly but inaccurately, twice as much as just seven years ago.”

Eggers notes that countries that have not reduced discipline and standards, such as China, Taiwan, and South Korea, have not experienced these learning declines.

“The findings say 76 percent of respondents personally engage in at least one form of illicit technology use on a daily basis in high school,” Eggers reports. “These are students scrolling social media, messaging friends, shopping, or gambling online. This is what they’re doing at school,” he adds.

Nearly half of students surveyed admitted to using AI to solve math problems. Thirty-six percent used AI to summarize books they were supposed to have read, twenty-nine percent used it to write first drafts of compositions, and twenty-six percent for help during quizzes and tests.

Scientists Discover New Wild Cat Species for First Time in 100 Years:

A new wild cat species has been discovered for the first time in 100 years — the tilcayo tiger cat from the Bolivian Yungas.

Officially named leopardus tilcayo, the spotted, slender tiger cat boasts the size of a kitten rather than a standard house cat, per NBC News. The exact size of the cat’s population remains unknown. There are as many as five tiger cat species in South America and they face severe conservation challenges due to vanishing habitats.

Nogales-Ascarrunz was at first astounded by the cat’s relatively small size upon discovering it. In fact, a man brought it to the wildlife rehabilitation center thinking it was a domestic kitten.

According to Scientific American, the discovery of a new mammal, especially a cat, is exceedingly rare.
