President Donald Trump is expected to return from his trip to Israel on Tuesday to award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously, Breitbart News reported Saturday. The outlet noted the honor will be bestowed during a White House ceremony. In a social media post on Tuesday, Turning Point USA honored Kirk, who never balked at sharing his faith in Jesus Christ with others, by stating, “A life lived boldly. A legacy remembered forever. Happy birthday, Charlie.” Meanwhile, Breitbart News reported on September 18 that the United States Senate “unanimously approved a resolution led by Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) designating October 14, 2025, as a National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk, honoring the late Turning Point USA founder’s legacy of faith, free speech, and civic engagement.” A new report posted on X shows a steep decline in the number of young people who identify as “non-binary,” suggesting that the non-conforming sexual identity contagion that has infected so many young lives over the last few years is now retreating. “Trans identification is in free fall among the young,” author and commentator Eric Kaufman wrote on X above a chart showing the plummeting numbers of “Students Not Identifying as Male or Female” at select college campuses. Kansas lawmakers are debating whether to expand health care providers’ access to the federal 340B drug pricing program. If passed, Senate Bill 284 would hand even more power to large hospital chains while shrinking consumer choice. It would also deepen the program’s existing problems — lack of accountability, rising costs, and market consolidation — all without helping the patients it was supposed to serve. The 340B program, created in 1992, was meant to help safety-net providers serving uninsured and low-income patients by requiring drug manufacturers to sell medications at steep discounts. Today, it has ballooned into the second-largest prescription drug purchasing program in the United States, behind only Medicare Part D, costing $66.3 billion in 2023. SB 284 would make that worse. The bill would block drugmakers from denying access to certain drugs, reduce transparency, and discourage innovation. It would do nothing to stop hospitals from exploiting the program. The myth behind 340B is that big health systems use their windfalls to support rural hospitals. The reality is the opposite. As 340B has expanded, rural hospitals have closed by the dozens. The law’s original purpose — to subsidize drug purchases for clinics that serve the needy — has been lost. What began as a narrow, temporary safety net for vulnerable populations has evolved into a profit engine for massive hospital systems. Many 340B participants today are large urban hospitals, cancer centers, and wealthy institutions that do little charity care. Once a hospital buys an outpatient clinic, it can immediately declare that clinic 340B-eligible, regardless of the patients it serves. Those discounted drugs can then be billed at full price to insurers or government programs, and the hospital keeps the difference. Hospitals buy drugs cheap, bill high, and pocket the profits... Instead of cutting costs, 340B creates a hidden subsidy that enriches institutions while obscuring the real price of care. Worse, some hospitals use their freed-up funds to expand abortion and gender-transition services, sidestepping Hyde Amendment restrictions on federal money for those procedures. One of the most brazen robberies in recent French history has taken the world by shock. As CBS News reported, masked thieves carried out a stunning daytime heist at the Louvre in Paris, the world’s most visited museum, on Sunday morning. The museum was forced to close following the incident as authorities began to investigate. A museum spokesperson told CBS News in a statement that the theft occurred at around 9:30 a.m. in broad daylight. They said several people broke into the Louvre through the Galerie d’Apollon and stole jewelry before racing away on motorcycles. “An investigation has begun, and a detailed list of the stolen items is being compiled,” the statement continued. “Beyond their market value, these items have inestimable heritage and historical value.” Among the items stolen were a necklace, a brooch, and a tiara. Jordan Bardella, a politician with the populist National Rally Party and likely 2027 French Presidential candidate, called the heist “an intolerable humiliation” for France. “The Louvre is a global symbol of our culture. This heist, which allowed thieves to steal the Crown Jewels of France, is an intolerable humiliation for our country,” he wrote on X. “How far will the decay of the state go?” The Louvre welcomes around 8.7 million visitors every year and attracts roughly 30,000 per day.
