Terrifying Footage Shows Chinese Robot Waking from Its Slumber — Then Viciously Attacking Its Handlers (VIDEO):
If robots do end up wiping out all of humanity, the warning signs were definitely there.
Shocking CCTV footage from a factory in China shows a humanoid robot turning erratic and attacking its surroundings in what many online have described as a scene straight out of a dystopian film
The robot, suspended from a small crane-like apparatus, appears to wake up from its slumber and starting violently thrash its arms, swiping the air with increasing aggression.
During the outburst, the machine suddenly lunges at a man seated at a nearby workstation, forcing him to duck for cover, while another individual standing behind the robot quickly retreats.
Driverless Trucks Are Now Rolling Down Texas Highways:
Aurora has become the first company to successfully operate a commercial driverless trucking service on public roads. The company’s autonomous trucks are driving down Texas highways between Dallas and Houston.
CNNreportsthat Aurora, a leading autonomous trucking firm, has announced the launch of its commercial driverless trucking service in Texas. The company has partnered with Uber Freight and Hirschbach Motor Lines to deliver time- and temperature-sensitive freight between Dallas and Houston. This development marks a major step forward in the adoption of self-driving technology in the trucking industry.
I don't know. We have a lot of self-driving cars in California already and instead of Uber, you can call a Waymo for a driver-less lift. Sometimes they do get confused though with the double-parking in San Francisco, etc.
Some people may trust riding in a driverless vehicle but what about the rest of us who are uncomfortable with these things on the road? The masses are never given consideration. I think they should have these things clearly marked so we can avoid them.
They are easily identified by the round whirly object on their roofs. I looked it up and it's called a Lidar sensor that helps them map their surroundings by laser light. Also, every Waymo car I have ever seen is a white color.
@patrician I saw one of those here the day before yesterday but someone was actually in the driver's seat. I had never noticed them before. I guess they are about to be unleashed in metro Atlanta now.
Yes, San Francisco has them already without drivers and they can be ordered like Lyft. We see a lot of driverless ones in the South Bay but only Waymo employees are allowed to ride in them here for now.
He sounds creepy. Besides, isn't Petrus Romanus to be elected next? I read Francis wasn't installed with all the required formalities. He's not really pope, just a placeholder till the next one. Where the pictures of all the popes hang, there is only one empty frame left. There are three named Peter in the running.
