No doubt that as an historical record they may contain a modicum of truth. But they just didn't simply advance the cause of Christ. We are told that the Word of God is profitable in many ways. Correction, reproof, exhortation, doctrine and even to the bringing of conviction. That said, I think the Word's greatest asset is that it reveals God's heart! This is what I glean for when reading the Word! Certainly it is not given for private interpretation! In any event I am saved by God's blood and grace, not by my intellect. TR https://www.compellingtruth.org/book-of-Jasher.html There was once a Book of Jasher. There isn't any reason to think what exists now is the one from the Bible. So as much as I love the idea of riding a horse and having a chestnut mare about 19 hands high accompany me to heaven, scripture does not back the presented article. The book of Enoch and Jasper are good historical reads, but they are not God’s Word. They can be in the same class as Hammurabi’s Law, which is what some believe is what Moses developed the Torah from instead of giving God the glory for giving the law to Israel. Every turn, satan tries to twist truth. Yet another sign of the last days, sway from, add to, take away from God’s Truth. :prayer-hands: Enoch and Elijah didn't directly ride the horses; instead they climbed into fiery chariots. No? And were they just passengers or were they actually involved in directing the horses using fiery reins... :good: :mail: Would the dead in Christ who rise first also need fiery chariots, or would they be reserved just for us rapturees? And how many resurrectees or rapturees could we get into a single chariot? Maybe that would be like the question, "How many angels can you fit on the head of a pin?" :mdrmdr: Also, a fiery horse would not be able to eat hay. Just as soon as they bent over their lips would set it ablaze. Right? Naw - too much trouble. Don't want to go there. Whatever gets my new body off the ground I presume will be invisible. Some force, maybe electromagnetic in nature. I'm hoping not to have and need wings. :negative: The Rapture is serious business. No horsing around!
