In talking with Tom, I was pointing out how it seems the Lord is parcing out information. On the one hand we can calculate that Israel was in Babylonian captivity for exactly 70 yrs to the day. Yet the knowledge of Jesus exact birth-date, and age at death and date and year of the resurrection seems to allude history??? Some of the most important information is seemingly deliberately obscured! Conveniently lost to ambiguity and second guessing! Again all the prophecies and scriptures with regards to the exact timing of the Rapture are veiled in ambiguity or left in open ended statements! Don't know about anyone else, but I'm seeing the hand of God specifically at work here expressly and with purpose to keeping the day of the Rapture as being incalculable by men! That said, what we are given are clues and hints at best on a macro level, not micro! So it seems to me that God isn't obsessed by our correctly calculating the day or hour of the Rapture, but rather that we should utilize our dwindling days to ever press in to the deepening of our relationship and intimacy with Him! This IMHO is what the Lord would find to be most pleasing to Him! The Lord I'm sure willl honour our faithfulness in our watching! TR Yes, the Lord knows that man loves to worship golden calves so He intentionally kept certain dates from our knowledge. Just look what we’ve done with Christmas and He never even told us when Jesus was born. He definitely wants our eyes on Jesus and not the ancillary events that surrounded His appearing on the world scene. Yep, I find it fascinating we really don’t know the actual birthday of Jesus. There are a few views out there so we can only speculate. However, I do ponder this one view ... Luke 1:5 “There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.” Since “The Course of Abia” ends July 31st some speculate this could be a clue of when Zechariah finished serving in the temple and he went home on July 31 and Elizabeth became pregnant. 6 months later Mary became pregnant (January 31) and visited Elizabeth to tell her the Good News and John the Baptist would have been 6 months in the womb leaping for joy. Mary carried Jesus a full 9 months and since Jesus is never late (always on time) that would make it ... October 31st - Halloween Day! How fitting that satan would take that day away and make it his own since his only ambition is to be like God. Also the shepherds would have still be in the fields with their sheep in October. I’m sure there are other views out there ... we have to wait for heaven to find out which one was correct. Curious! Again the point being that as incredulous it is to believe that no one in the early church thought it important enough to document the day of His birth, but rather speaks of God's intervention to conceal it! We are also left guessing as to when Enoch and Elijah were specifically Raptured as well! Perhaps all occurred on the same calendar day?! If that were the case, it wouldn't surprise me. TR
