Good point, TR.

I went with some friends to feed the homeless on Christmas Day. They appear to be day to day, TR. Smile
They did enjoy the muffins, hot chocolate and clothing that we brought. I bought a whole bunch of socks for them. Socks are like gold for them, I have learned.

Not to mention the encouragement, bible tracts and free Bibles they took. (The real gold)

Matthew 6:25-34

New King James Version

Do Not Worry
25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

That's very nice of you Arthur.

I did volunteer to walk around the city and give bags with some food to the homeless. We were making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I wished we could make nicer sandwiches for them but we were told other sandwiches with veggies will get soggy.

we had the sandwich in the bag, fruit juice and an apple.

I was handing over a bag to a homeless lady. she asked: is this a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?  I said: yes. She had this annoyed and disappointed look on her face. I was very  hurt by her reaction. She really hurt me.

I do wish we could have made something nicer for them. A cheese sandwich with a bit of lettuce or cucumber would have been nicer and won't get too soggy.

The way I see it, to those who have been given much, much is expected.

-------

Luke 12:48

New King James Version

48 But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more.

-------

I have been blessed financially in my life. It is a joy to help people that are down and out or have hit rock bottom. In fact, the homeless are generally among the most down to earth people you will meet. I find that I get a lot more out of it than I put in.

------

A lot of homeless people are missing teeth or have dental problems. So things that are easy to chew or digest are good. Muffins, while maybe not being the healthiest thing out there, seem to be popular. You do meet the occasional ungrateful person but you have to factor in the high rate of mental illness among drug users (attempted self medication) and homeless people. Like everywhere, you meet a few bad apples.

yes, you are right. some of them might have dental problems so we have to watch what we give them to eat.

The bible instructs us to have a free hand!  If we are able to bless someone, we should!

Every time I bless someone's it's a two-fer,  blessing both man and God!

Again, whenever I hear instructions given to stock up, I ask about those living day to day, those that are homeless, the many in our society not knowing when their next meal will be!

Any such injunction must be tempored and given free of guilt!  Stocking up is not a duty, but a luxury!

My thoughts, it is so important for every able person to Vote in the time we have left. Every attempt is being made to right the wrongs,; to prevent more stolen elections. I've heard over the years that many Christians don't vote. Maybe because they know their true home is in heaven and not here. But shouldn't we be accountable to participate in voting in as many godly minded people as possible? God gave government and has said, pray for our leaders. So voting to put our governments in the hands of the best people, supports what God wanted established. We know the end times we are in, going forward and not back. But I imagine had all those in the free world who could have voted in righteous people, but chose not to, now realize you can and will lose that which you don't practically and spiritually protect.

It is so important to pray where we see lawlessness rising and injustice, with what the Holy Spirit places on our minds and hearts. That God's Word would overcome the darkness while we wait.

There is so much turmoil, confusion and dictating now over the people by the godless powers that be. Consider that some of what the elites have claimed will happen, has not manifested, is not being seen, has changed, has been disrupted, delayed, or not allowed - because of the saints prayers and intercession for God to intervene and thwart and hinder the plans of the enemy of more suppression of freedoms. This if very possibly why things they proclaim seem to not have come about as they have said.

There is wisdom I believe in these days of turmoil, confusion, and unsettledness in what the godless elite will try next, to set aside what is possible to set aside, for the needs of our homes if you are able. There are practical and necessary needs in every home such as paper products, water, maybe powdered products to replace fresh milk etc, medicinal products. If a blackout is caused, the need is to figure how you want to make light in your home. Each family has basic and individual needs for each family member and as a whole. Thinking about those needs and setting aside for them imo is a responsible thing to consider. Whether we are rich or poor, we can do what we are able to do, and as was said, God will do the rest. For those who can, He will ask them to give and to share somehow, as He leads. For those who are poor - God will supply. But even if you are poor, you can find ways to give something from the heart for the need of another, and in that are blessings from the Lord for trusting Him in giving from the little that you have.

As far as stress, this more than ever is a time like no other. Whether rich or poor, God is our only resource at all times. The only One to lean on and rely in. We can't discourage discussion on preparing for anyone led to do so - those preparing might be the very one's who are able to turn around and help those without. God works through people.

For those who have stress, give it all to the Lord daily, and trust Him for the outcome, for who He will use, when, where and how. Pray that everyone has their needs met. In that are blessings. For those without, God has someone for everyone to help them in their need(s). God is our Father. Let's pray and listen for Him. As long as we remain here, seek, praise, worship, commune with and trust our Lord to provide. He will hear and He will do it. :bible :rose:

I think it is imperative that we vote. I don't vote to try to set up the Kingdom now. I never look at it that way. The people we put into office govern over us and the more decent people in office the better. For those who don't vote they are basically saying "I don't care who rules over me". Well, I do! `

Dearest Boulder,

I, too, have felt a strong burden to stock up on food and other supplies.  It may not be for us but for tribulation saints.  I’m going with nudge from the Holy Spirit until He says enough.
