Seems to me that I can easily equate virtual reality as the new Ouji game-board of the past. A portal into spiritual evils via the senses leading into the mind. At the same time it certainly seems that many demonic portals touching man has been made more readily available recently. Whether demonic interest, drugs, virtual reality, artificial intelligence or what have you. Access into the dark dominions continue to avail themselves often disguised as entertainment. Indeed technology is proving to be a Pandora's box all unto itself. Emulating the attribute of God's creativity, man has subdued the Earth and all it's realms. Whereas God created good, man creates both good and evil chasing after wealth. God's motivations were hugely different! Even if man were to usurp God and claim Godhood within themselves, the generations of man would numbered extremely low. Whereas God who is eternal and self existing predates the generations of man and holds eternity in the palm of His hand! Interesting that God could create man in His own image and likeness that they would even die fully to self. While yet some men descend into depths of depravity emulating demons instead of God! Just thinking out loud here. What say you? TR I look at the good that has come from technology and from what you write, I am reminded that even in good, man can and does distort, because of the evil in the world. But soon and very soon, all of technology will not be an issue for the watchers, our Bridegroom will not use an iPhone, iPad, Skype, or facial recognition program to call His children home and He knows who we are. :prayer-hands: :yahoo: :prayer-hands: :flyup: Don't get me wrong Sis. I thank God for sliced bread and toilet paper every day! The fact that man continues to grow in knowledge and creative effort only speaks to how we can be lickened to our Creator. But like our Heavenly Father, once something is created, it cannot be un-created. As well as also considering the motives of our creating! I truly must say that Man has certainly subdued the Earth and it's enviroments. As we were instructed by the Lord to do so! But intellect and technology does not a God create. TR I'm not sure if Virtual Reality as a form of entertainment is that much worse than other forms of escapism, such as 2-D movies or video games. It is the constant desire to escape real life that I see as the underlying threat. There are plenty who have never tried VR and yet see life through a distorted set of assumptions, chiefly that they can create their own reality through their will. Whether it is by a head set over the eyes, or a veil of deception, we live in a time in which people think they can create their own truth and operate subjectively. Either way, your eyes can deceive you and you wind up walking into a brick wall outside your preferences about reality. Technology is exploding, without a doubt. The worst tendencies of the human mind will be exploited by it, as it always has been. There may be some good things accomplished by the use of such new tools, while the common person will mostly be attracted to it as a diversion from the real world. Astute observation David. Indeed the more we learn and grow the more apt we will be to better appreciate not only all that the Lord has done, but how big He really is! TR
