THE TREE OF EARTHLY LIFE

Why
is it that
God-fearing
people are forever
unjustifiably penalized?
We staidly labor sowing seeds
Producing flourishing new fruits,
Only to glance below in perturbation
As a parasite consumes our ample roots.
We endeavor to spread our protective mulch
To ensure the abundance of an overflowing yield,
Only to serve as hosts to vile and repugnant scourges
Who indefatigably sponge from our freshly-harvested field.
Leeches can’t fathom the benefits derived from assiduous toil,
So they will perpetually wallow in the decadence of their labor lost,
The physical application of work they regard only with abhorrent disdain,
While invariably maintaining their voracious sustenance at somebody else’s cost!
The Saints seek
to enrich the lives of
those who just don’t care
about Salvation through a Savior!
There’s no conveying this essence of life,
To a pariah whose ignorance emanates from birth,
Instead of struggling to bring their own sapling to maturity,
They choose instead to slither in the despicable muck of the earth!

I don't know what got into me, and I don't know why I wrote this. This just branched out from the trunk of my mind and I haven't determined the root cause of that yet. To avoid embarrassing myself further, I'll quietly leave now and keep my stalking to a minimum.

My apologies -- I was unable to format this in the center-justified position. When it is center-justified, it appears as a tree. Possibly the Mods can assist me with that, otherwise, again, I'm sorry that the lameness of this creativity has gone awry. No wonder I'm so humbly irrelevant and tend to keep in the shadows and in the corner -- where I spent a lot of time in "time-out" when I was a kid. Smile
