Indeed simply the name of Jesus can invoke so many emotions and responses.  For the believer, it is the only name given under the Heavens by which men can be saved.

For the God haters His name demands attention!  Again, it is the lukewarm that Christ has no respect for!  Whether His name causes demons to tremble and run or whether it causes a heart to a state of humble thanksgiving, the mention of His name alone shall accomplish His purposes.

Let us then forever proclaim the name above all names, Jesus!!!

Before I came to know the Lord at 23, I am ashamed to say that the Name of Jesus was nothing more than a four-letter curse word with an extra letter.  After becoming a believer, it always struck me as both diabolical and Truth-confirming that the one Name given under heaven among men by which we must be saved is the one "religious" name that Satan has successfully caused unregenerate men and women to use in a defiling, blasphemous manner.  If the Devil and his demonic horde can get a man to use the one Name that is intended to save his soul instead as a curse word, then he is well on his way to deceiving that soul into the confines of hell.  Ever notice how nobody says, "Oh Buddha" or "Oh Moses" when they get angry?  The fact that Jesus' name gets used in that way is, imho, additional evidence that supports the reality that there truly is something powerful, unique, and Divine about that Name that is above every other name.  Thank you, Lord Jesus.

Reposting this from another thread a few months back because it relates to the power of the Name of Jesus:

As I have shared with this online family before, I engage in a ministry of holding up a sign on a busy street corner in my community, warning people that the rapture is coming soon and will be followed by judgment.  The sign is both a warning and a plea from the Holy Spirit.  It reads:

Warning

Rapture Soon

Then Judgment

Please Trust

In Jesus Now

As I have also previously shared, the Lord has me singing songs of worship and intercessory prayer over the people who drive by as I hold up the sign.  He has given me rewritten lyrics to several existing songs, and I wanted to share the latest one with this online community.

This one, in my experience on the streets, has probably been the most powerful one so far.  It has me literally singing the Name of Jesus over people as they drive by.  It is rewritten lyrics to an old Michael W. Smith song, I Hear Leesha, from the late ‘80s.  I believe that song was originally written about a Christian girl who tragically died unexpectedly at a young age.  I always liked the song and the music.  Now the Lord has given me some different lyrics that I have been singing over people driving by as they view the sign I hold up.  I find myself literally holding the note when singing the Name of Jesus as long as I can as if somehow God’s power is being released to move on the hearts of those who drive by under the “canopy” of His Name.  The rewritten lyrics have the Gospel in them.  The life, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus.  And the rapture as well.

I will put a link to the song below.  For those so inclined, you can play the song while you read the lyrics the Lord has given me.  Pray that He would use this song of intercessory prayer to draw many hearts to Him before the darkness of wrath descends upon this earth.  Maranatha!!!

I HEAR JESUS

(MUSIC OF “I HEAR LEESHA” BY MW SMITH)

Seems like it was only yesterday

You were living here, Lord You were living here

Left your Word behind to show the way,

You made it very clear, yeah made it very clear

Son of God You died upon the cross for us

Shed Your blood to wash away our sin

Now forgiven

Chorus:

I hear Jesus, singing His Word in the night

And in between the sadness, oh I hear Jesus

Calling your souls unto life

Life goes on even after life

That’s what I believe, yeah that’s what I believe

Ohhh, empty tomb it testifies of Thee

The resurrected King, yeah risen after three

Resurrection power has prevailed on high

Now seated at the right hand on Your throne

You’re our Savior

Chorus

The trump will sound, the dead in Christ will rise again

Then those remaining meet You in the air

Oh Lord, we’re watching

Chorus x 2

The Name of Jesus…the Name of Jesus…the Name of Jesus…the Name of Jesus (repeat singing the Name of Jesus over the people as they drive by…)

What God has cleansed, let no man call common!   Even so Lord, come quickly that we all can stop sinning against You!

For it is only with a fully sanctified heart and body can we then begin to acknowledge and give thanks to Him!   Fashioned with the purity of incorruptability.

Watchman, I also find that really interesting that out of all the curse words in American culture, only Jesus and God are used from any of the available religions around the world. I very rarely go out and about alone in public places much anymore. I shop online if at all possible or go with my husband if we must go out somewhere. What I noticed is just how strongly I react when I hear someone cursing with Jesus or God's name. My entire spirit recoils like I've been struck with electricity, not at that person, they are probably ignorant of the blasphemy, but of the vitriol connected to how they say the name. It's definitely a subtle way that satan unknowingly confirms the existence of Jesus and God. His whole focus is on perverting everything about them. Just my random ponderings.

Good line of thinking.  Indeed Satan does in fact acknowledge God in so many ways.  And he certainly works hard at trying to imitate all that the Lord has done!  He has always acknowledged the existence of God. to some degree!  Even Satan is not so foolish as to deny the existence of God!

Unable to deny God's existence, Satan's only strategy then is to offer a viable replacement.  It's just grievously sad the nature of things that we use to replace God with!

Sadly even the  atheists will use the name of Jesus in vain.  I caught one Fed Ex driver in an angry moment and he cursed Jesus and I said “if you don’t believe in God, why are you saying the name of Jesus?”  He got red in the face and shrugged “I guess force of habit from hearing others”.

Also 2 Jewish condo neighbors were very vocal at last year end budget meeting/Christmas party.  Then when the Christmas party began ... or should I say “holiday party” he hates hearing it called a “Christmas” party ... the V.P. said I don’t want to hear any religion or politics. Then he gets drunk as a skunk (drank the entire bottle of wine he brought over) and starts cursing Trump out for the remainder of the night.  I’m not looking forward to this Sunday night ... I’m sure it will be a round 2 repeat.

Politics doesn't save us, Christ does.  Perhaps a tee shirt proclaiming Jesus might shake his foundation rather than his political grandstand.  Just a thought.
