As I was reading through everyone's responses -- Chris Tomlin's song was playing in my head: Indeed because of the crowns that are given, we shall rule and reign with Him! And perhaps because of those crowns we will rule over and or sit in judgment over the angels! Seems to me that they are more than mere gifts of appreciation or merit. But they are visible representations of power, authority and position! Usually given to sovereign potentates highlighting God''s sovereignty over all the Earth. And whoever wore one was expected to display the attributes of God's rule, reign, justice and mercy! TR
