I don't think a few more years personally. If the vax winds up causing the problems that we fear it might....life will not be going on as usual, even in the very near future...the stock market is way overdue for a correction, the middle east is getting heated up- I agree with JD, prophecy has a shelf life and it doesn't seem to make sense that we see so many of the signs of the trib happening if we have years more left until the Rapture. I am not predicting a day or even a month...but if we say longer than spring of 2022, then we have to totally dismiss the fig tree generation timing, and since all of Jesus' words were intentional, I believe "this generation" was important to add. That's reasonable. I certainly want it to be sooner than later. In other words, the Jewish people will not pass away before all these things come to pass. Here is an article on Matthew 24:34 talking about the word generation. I think the verse in Luke 21:28 is the key … when these things BEGIN to happen … to look up for our redemption draws near. We are already seeing most of these signs happening now … I think only verses 20 - 24 refers to tribulation life but the other verses can describe both now and tribulation life. Luke 21 This is all happening now 9 But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by. 10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: 11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. 16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. 17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. Tribulation life 20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. (I’m now leaning that every eye will not only see Jesus in a cloud with power and great glory at the time of the 2nd Coming but it could also refer to at the rapture event as well. The unsaved will see us flying upward … the body will be changed in a twinkling of an eye but the going up is much slower) 28 And when these things BEGIN to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. I still have great hope for this year. We still have all the July Pentecost dates. I have July 3/4, 9/10, 17/18/ and 24-26 circled. Then all the dates for the month of Av, Wine festival, 9th of Av, 15th of Av. and because of the question of when the year began, we have two months to watch on those dates. I have seen many theories that this is our year. Maybe we should make a list? In the end, all I can do is ask on a daily basis what the Lord has planned! Saying Lord willing! His will be be done! The fig tree generation could be misinterpreted, possibly, though. By this generation (genea), Jesus could have been referring to the Jewish people.
