Researchers at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco examined major tariff changes from 1870 through 2020 across the United States, the United Kingdom, and France. Their conclusion challenges the conventional wisdom that dominated economic policy debates in recent years: when countries raise tariffs, prices actually fall, not rise. “We find that a tariff hike raises unemployment and lowers inflation,” the authors, Régis Barnichon and Aayush Singh, write in their working paper released this month.”This goes against the predictions of standard models, whereby CPI inflation should go up in response to higher tariffs.” The finding arrives at a politically charged moment. As the Trump administration has implemented tariff increases averaging 18 percent on U.S. imports in 2025, mainstream economists warned of a significant inflationary spiral. The Federal Reserve officials have repeatedly said they have hesitated to cut interest rates because they expect tariffs to push up prices. The release noted that in 12 states — Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas — sponsors of unaccompanied children have been arrested. Sponsors have been charged with various types of assault, rape, domestic violence, attempted murder, drug trafficking, and human trafficking. Newsom Calls Trump ‘An Invasive Species’ At UN Climate Summit, Inking Agreements With Communist Governments: Crowned by global media outlets as the most important American at the United Nations “climate” summit in Belem, far-left California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) slammed U.S. President Donald Trump as an “invasive species” while signing deals with hostile foreign governments. The American president, Newsom suggested, must be stopped in order to save the world from alleged man-made climate change. Among other major announcements, Newsom inked a number of unconstitutional quasi-treaties with foreign governments — several of which are dominated by self-proclaimed communist and socialist leaders hostile to the United States. All of it is blatantly illegal and unconstitutional. In Article 1, Section 10, the U.S. Constitution prohibits these sorts of agreements. “No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation,” it says. TPUSA spokesman Andrew Kolvet posted Monday on social media, “This is beyond correlation, this is a five alarm fire” in response to a story by the New York Post’s Miranda Devine addressing Crooks’ apparent interest in transgenderism and furries. Robinson’s roommate was his transgender lover, who apparently had a furry fetish.
