In a post on Truth Social today, US President Donald Trump raised concerns about comments allegedly made by Dmitry Medvedev, former president of Russia, suggesting that Russia or other nations could give nuclear weapons to Iran following the US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday night. Trump questioned whether Medvedev had casually referenced nuclear warheads and implied that Russia and other countries might supply them to Iran, labeling the use of the "N word" (nuclear) as far too casual. “Did I hear Former President Medvedev, from Russia, casually throwing around the 'N word' (Nuclear!), and saying that he and other countries would supply Nuclear Warheads to Iran? Did he really say that or, is it just a figment of my imagination?” Trump posted. He further called for confirmation, urging that the "N word" should not be "treated so causally" and expressed disbelief at the potential consequences of such statements. https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/410534 Iran fired missiles towards the Middle East’s largest U.S. air base, home to some 10,000 American troops, in Qatar on Monday, the Gulf country’s foreign ministry confirmed. “We are reassured that Qatari air defenses thwarted the attack and successfully intercepted the Iranian missiles,” wrote Majed al-Ansari, spokesman for the Qatari foreign ministry, of the attack on Al Udeid Air Base. “We affirm that the State of Qatar reserves the right to respond directly in a manner proportional to the nature and scale of this blatant aggression and in accordance with international law,” the spokesman said. He added that there were no casualties as a result of the attack. “Iran has officially responded to our obliteration of their nuclear facilities with a very weak response,” Trump wrote. “Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their ‘system,’ and there will, hopefully, be no further hate.” He added that Iran had given the United States forewarning of the attack. “I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost and nobody to be injured,” Trump wrote. “Perhaps Iran can now proceed to peace and harmony in the region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same.” https://www.jns.org/iran-launches-missiles-towards-qatar-air-base/ Trump said that Iran will immediately cease attacks and Israel will join the ceasefire on the 12th hour of the agreement. In the 24th hour, both sides will reportedly accept an end to the 12-day war. According to a diplomatic source familiar with details, the ceasefire was mediated by Qatar. "For 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. "During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, 'THE 12 DAY WAR.' This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!" U.S. President Donald Trump hailed a “historic… monumental win” for the United States, Europe, and “Western civilisation” as the NATO alliance agreed to his demand to equalise the burden of common defence with a five per cent of GDP floor on military spending for its members. The centrepiece for the Hague summit, the first major NATO meeting in years, is the adoption of a new floor for spending by member states on their own and collective defence. While members had been expected to spend two per cent or more of their own GDP on defence until now, that figure has now more than doubled to five per cent of GDP, even if the new figure will include new types of spending not previously considered to count as defence spending. This change has been widely portrayed as a major victory for President Trump, who has been working to get NATO’s European and Canadian members to shulder more of the burden for over a decade. He was effusive in his praise, stating “tremendous things have been accomplished as you probably noticed” and saying: “in a very historic milestone this week the NATO allies committed to dramatically increase their defence spending to that five per cent of GDP… this is a monumental win for the United States because we were carrying much more than our fair share. But this is a big win for Europe and for Western civilisation." “Terrible” socialist Spain was the sole NATO member to refuse a major increase in defence spending this week, leaving President Donald Trump threatening tariffs in return. Spain will end up paying more, all told, for the dogged refusal of its government to accept a greater share of the common defence of the Euro-Atlantic area because it will simply pay higher tariffs on trade instead, President Trump said on Wednesday. Remarkably, the major European country is the worst-performing state in NATO, spending a rock-bottom 1.3 per cent of national GDP on defence in 2024. ... Spain is the only country of all the countries that refuses to pay. They want a little bit of a free ride, so they’ll have to pay it back to us on trade as I won’t let that happen, it’s not fair."Trump: 'Did I just [hear] Russian ex-prez threaten to give nukes to Iran?'
