President Donald Trump will sign an executive order making English the official language of the United States. Despite English being the predominant language, the U.S. has never had a national language at the federal level. However, many states have declared English as their official language. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report on the order: The executive order would rescind a federal mandate issued by President Bill Clinton that agencies and other recipients of federal funding are required to provide language assistance to non-English speakers, the officials said. Agencies will still be able to provide documents and services in languages other than English, according to a White House summary of the order viewed by The Wall Street Journal. The summary of the order said the goal of making English the national language is to promote unity, establish efficiency in the government and provide a pathway to civic engagement. Secretary of State Marco Rubio terminated the US’s support for Ukraine’s power grid. The State Department ended a USAID initiative that has given hundreds of millions of dollars to the restoration of Ukraine’s power grid. Ukraine has been struggling with power outages because of Russia’s attacks on its power grid over the last few years. Pursuing President Trump's vision of a fighting force focused on readiness to wage war, the Pentagon is about to initiate a fast-paced program to ferret out transgender military members and discharge them from the military, according to a memorandum filed in federal court on Wednesday. “Service members who have a current diagnosis or history of, or exhibit symptoms consistent with, gender dysphoria will be processed for separation from military service,” the memo says. The campaign will be carried out in two phases. First, the Pentagon will have 30 days to create a process for identifying and cataloguing every transgender service member. Discharges must commence within the next 30 days. Discharges will be "honorable" unless the individual's record makes a lesser classification appropriate. “The Department only recognizes two sexes: male and female,” the memo adds. “An individual’s sex is immutable, unchanging during a person’s life." The Secret Service is investigating after multiple aircraft violated airspace over Palm Beach on Saturday. Newsmax host Todd Starnes reported on Saturday that three aircraft were escorted out of the area by F-16 fighter jets at 11:05 am, 12:10 pm and 12:50 pm. During two of the intercepts, the fighter jets had to deploy flares, and all three planes were safely escorted out of the restricted airspace. Last month, The Palm Beach Post reported that three airspace violations occurred in February while President Trump was staying at Mar-a-Lago. “A spokesperson for the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, confirmed Wednesday that there were three airspace violations of the imposed presidential protected space during Trump’s six-day visit to Mar-a-Lago, his mansion in Palm Beach. Two occurred on Feb. 15 and one on Presidents Day, Feb. 17,” the Palm Beach Post reported last month. There was one key point in the announcement that stuck out: “It also cements the UK as a preferred partner for Ukraine’s energy sector, critical minerals strategy and green steel production.” Although it has yet to be confirmed, some believe that this entire agreement includes Ukraine giving the rights to its minerals to the UK—NOT the US. And this agreement was signed just days before Trump entered office.
