The Department of Government Efficiency announced on Monday that it had uncovered a significant tracking gap in the Department of Treasury's funding. The DOGE explained in a post on X that the Treasury Department uses an "identification code" to link its payments to budget line items. However, it discovered that this tracking code was optional for approximately $4.7 trillion in expenses and was often left blank, rendering the funds nearly impossible to trace. "The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process)," the DOGE wrote. "In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for ~$4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible. As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going." According to the DOGE's website, within the first month of Trump's second term, the newly formed agency has already saved American taxpayers $55 billion. These savings stem from "a combination of fraud detection/deletion, contract/lease cancellations, contract/lease renegotiations, asset sales, grant cancellations, workforce reductions, programmatic changes, and regulatory savings." https://www.theblaze.com/news/doge-finds-treasury-spent-up-to-4-7-trillion-in-untraceable-payments President Donald Trump revealed that he had instructed “all remaining” U.S. attorneys who had been appointed under former President Joe Biden to be terminated. “Over the past four years, the Department of Justice has been politicized like never before,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “Therefore, I have instructed the termination of ALL remaining ‘Biden Era’ U.S. Attorneys. We must ‘clean house’ IMMEDIATELY, and restore confidence. America’s Golden Age must have a fair Justice System — THAT BEGINS TODAY!” Millions of taxpayer dollars were spent on transgender surgeries and treatments on animals, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) confirmed yet again this week. According to reports, the committee revealed that $241 million in taxpayer dollars were used to study transgender surgeries and treatments on animals. What is perhaps more, former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases chief Anthony Fauci gave the green light to the bulk of these cruel and unusual experiments. ...Testifying at an Oversight hearing earlier this month, Senior Vice President of Advocacy and Public Policy at White Coat Waste Project Justin Goodman testified that the $241 million spent on transgender animal testing is merely the “floor” of this so-called research. Goodman added that it is extremely difficult to navigate the federal databases to uncover this research. “You essentially need a degree in Information Technology to navigate the federal spending databases to find any of this stuff,” he said. “So what you found is we’re not being very transparent with what we’re spending these funds on?” Crane asked. Goodman responded, “Not at all, and it’s by design.” This followed a White Coat Waste investigation in December uncovering more than $10 million in taxpayer-funded grants being wasted on these transgender animal projects. The “National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and likely other agencies,” WCW noted, “are paying university labs across the country to perform invasive surgeries and hormone therapies on lab animals to mimic gender transitions in painful and deadly experiments.” Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) will announce Thursday he will not seek reelection in 2026, Politico reported. McConnell, who turned 83 Thursday, has been expected to retire following his resignation under pressure as Senate Republican Leader in early 2024. The octogenarian and longest-serving party leader in Senate history has held on through numerous falls and health issues, including moments where he froze for almost half a minute. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/02/20/report-mitch-mcconnell-to-announce-senate-retirement/ President Donald Trump suggested that the federal government “should take over Washington, D.C.” and govern it, citing how there was “too much crime, too much graffiti” and too many homeless encampments, according to several reports. Trump also shared that while he liked Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser (D), gets “along great with the mayor,” the government of D.C. was “not doing the job,” according to the press pool. “I like the mayor, I get along great with the mayor, they’re not doing the job — too much crime, too much graffiti, too many tents on the lawns, there’s magnificent lawns and there’s tents. It’s a sad thing, homeless people all over the place, we’ve gotta take care of the homeless,” Trump added, according to the press pool. “But we can’t have that in Washington, D.C.” In a list of 182 of the “Safest Cities in the U.S.,” Washington, DC, was listed as being 172, according to WalletHub. Other cities such as Baltimore, Maryland; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Detroit, Michigan, ranked below the District of Columbia.
