I have been reading a number of books on Armenia lately as I feel the Lord has put them on my heart. I feel a burden to pray for them and reach out to their community. As mentioned in other threads, fighting has broke out between Armenia and her neighbour Azerbaijan. This could lead to a wider war in the Middle East. Armenia definitely needs our prayer as it is a Christian nation, nearly surrounded by Islamic ones, some of them overtly hostile. It’s a really, really tough neighbourhood. More importantly though, Armenia needs prayer for its spiritual condition. They have a long Christian tradition of over 1700 years and yet many are not born again and in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Prayercast is a site that I use and love. It literally is David versus Goliath. Turkey has sent over a thousand Syrian terrorists to fight against Armenia. Erdogan is also threatening Armenia and calling them the biggest threat to peace in the region. Normally, one could ignore the ravings of a madman but Erdogan is literally on the warpath. Israel has sold a lot of weapons to Azerbaijan and that has hindered their relationship with Armenia. In fact, Armenia has just recalled their ambassador from their newly established embassy. (September 2019) Armenia has a good relationship with Iran. Really out of necessity. They are blockaged by and have closed borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan. They have an open border with Georgia but that would leave them very vulnerable if they only had one land connection. Armenia’s opening of an embassy in Israel did cause them friction with Iran, however. Israel, inexplicably, will not recognize the genocide of 1,500,000 Armenians by the Ottoman Empire. Not to mention the 750,000 Greek Christians that lost their lives. Things are unbelievably complicated in this region. Azerbaijan is fighting with Armenia over an area called Nagorno Karabakh. Nagorno is Russian for mountainous. Kara is Turkish for black. Bakh is Farsi for garden. Only Jesus is going to solve this Gordian knot of a problem. Lord come quickly! Wars in diverse places ..... Matthew 24:6 “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.” Truly we see this verse in action (have for the last 3 years as it has sped up) ... the disturbing part is the last part ... this can only mean all peoples that traverse the 7 years - as the bride is not appointed to wrath per the following verses in the Matthew 24 teaching. :prayer-hands: Iran does not wish for the fighting to continue. They have a significant Azeri minority who have been very vocal about this conflict. The shaky Iranian regime does not need widespread protests over this situation. The more I study this, the more complicated it gets. :wacko: When the Antichrist comes and brings "peace", he will literally be seen as a miracle worker. Lord, remember all the saints especially in Armenia! They have carried your name and been steadfast from the beginning! Show them Your mighty and glorious favor! Blessings and protection for them, tour children Father! All to Your glory! TR Thank you, TR. They really need our prayers. Not just for physical safety but for salvation. Being part of the atheistic Soviet Union has sapped the spiritual strength of Armenia. Still, revival is happening. I can’t help in seeing some parallels between Israel and Armenia. Both are nations that have been conquered and divided numerous times but they keep bouncing back. Both have been through a genocide in the 20th century. Both have large diasporas living abroad. Both have land conflicts with their Muslim neighbours. Both have Muslim neighbours that are destroying cultural property to hide the past. An interesting study could be made. Talks are taking place in Moscow. There is hope that a truce can be negotiated. Again Father, remember you saints here and around the world! And for all those yet to become part of the family of God! God be glorified not in the politics of men, but in spite of them! With eternity fast approaching, remember all in need! Remember our frames, and our spiritual ignorance! TR There was a cease fire agreed upon in Moscow but it seems to have immediately have been violated by Azerbaijan. 🙁 Israel doesn't seem to be too bothered about selling suicide drones to Azerbaijan. Kind of ironic that Muslims are using suicide drones. After all, they are the inventors of the suicide bomber. Arthur, Amir Tsarfati had a YT update yesterday regarding Armenia and today an article published on zerohedge stated Russian is calling for a permanent cease fire. Per Amir this is similar to a tribal (Ethnical) war more than a war based on religion and it makes sense (like the Arabs wanting the destruction of all Jews - why, because they are Jews - same Father, Abraham) — bottom line is it’s all about the oil, land, and control of the region ... anyone in the way, is annihilated. Same as war throughout history! We want what you have, so we will just take it .... you resist, we will get our big brothers to help us just take it and you will be destroyed.

I now hear that over 5,000 Syrian terrorist mercenaries are fighting for Azerbaijan and being funded by Turkey. Oi! 🙁
I have talked with many brothers and sisters in Belarus who experienced the same thing for decades, the location of this small country is a clear passageway and during the Prussian and Czar wars, many villagers were killed, simply because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. I have seen the many memorials to those wars, one is of an old man carrying his dead granddaughter out of a burning building, the entire village was locked into the church and it was set on fire, very sad. It brings tears in remembrance— they still struggle for faith against communism and mother Russia. Only God! :prayer-hands:
