They feel secure, peaceful, and are not under any threat and fear, when sudden destruction (rapture) comes upon them. This Covid-19 has frightened people around the world, and fear has gripped almost everyone of them. Rapture can't happen until this fear is gone, until people feel safe and secure again. Paul's teaching of peace and security (people's state of mind) is parallel to Jesus' teaching of people eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. They both point to people are enjoying peace and security, live their life as business as usual, when rapture the sudden destruction comes upon the world. Having said this, I doubt if rapture can happen any moment now. We may have to wait til the cure and the vaccine comes out, before the rapture happens. Peace and safety from war and aggression. Perhaps the scenario unfolds this way ... the church leaves sometime this April or May with all the high watch dates coming up ... and then the world is in such chaos from not only the virus but the rapture causing total collapse and perhaps even the G/M war kicks in. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, I was thinking that if Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Nisan 10 and if the Rabbis are expecting the Messiah to come before Passover...if the antichrist is going to imitate Christ and show up to fulfill scripture, he would show up on Nisan 10 also...on a colt. They are expecting him to bring the cure and think they need the temple for that also, so that would also involve the covenant. So, I think rapture by next Sat. Antichrist shows up with cure and signs covenant, they say peace and safety, then there is sudden destruction. That's my best take on it. 6 days away to find out!
