More people will leave Sweden than arrive in 2024, a major turnaround for the country, which was once the most enthusiastic adopter of mass migration in Europe, and which experienced all the social unrest that seems to inevitably come with it. The Swedish government has hailed its new anti-mass migration policies, as migrants start leaving the country in larger numbers, meaning it now has net emigration for the first time in over 50 years. The government’s Migration Minister, Maria Malmer Stenergard, has announced that “Sweden has stopped being an asylum immigration country” on the back of the latest figures. This change is, in part, due to considerably fewer asylum seekers coming to Sweden this year and more migrants leaving Sweden. In a remarkable development unthinkable only a couple of years ago, a thousand more Iraqis left than arrived in 2023, over a thousand more Somalis left than arrived, and 500 more Syrians left than arrived. The number of people leaving Sweden has increased by 60 percent. According to a Ministry of Justice statement based on Migration Agency data, Sweden will receive the lowest number of asylum seekers in 2024 of any year since 1997. Illustrating just how far these have fallen, there were 85,000 asylum applications in 2016, and just 5,600 so far in 2024... Sweden got a new government in 2022, led by the Moderate Party... the Swedish state has taken a radically new course on immigration. The Swedish government says that it has implemented “stricter asylum legislation” through combating what it calls the “shadow society”—the black market that allows illegal migrants to thrive—increasing returns and repatriations, cracking down on low-skill migration, revoking more residence permits for those who abuse Sweden’s hospitality, making chain migration harder, and requiring migrants to integrate. Moderate Party migration minister Maria Malmer Stenergard said lower levels of migrant arrivals are essential because persistently high arrivals make integration of newcomers into Swedish society difficult, given the tendency to form parallel communities. In other words, the Swedish government’s policy is to end multiculturalism and will require migrants to become culturally Swedish. Indeed, Sviergesradio reports Stenergard told migrants this week: “If you are in Sweden to stay, you must learn the language, become self-sufficient and respect Swedish values." A recently published CNN poll discovered that 35% of Americans indicated they've had to take on extra work just to stay afloat. 39% of US adults indicated that they worry most or all of the time that their family’s income won’t be enough to make ends meet. This marks a significant increase from December 2021, when that figure stood at 28%. These recent figures are also quite similar to those of the Great Recession, when they hovered around 37%. To deal with the rising cost of living, Americans have taken additional side jobs, reduced their driving, and have relied more on using their credit cards. 65% of Americans signaled that expenses and cost of living are the biggest economic problems their families are currently facing. Per research conducted by Moody’s Analytics, the average household is spending $925 more on a monthly basis to buy the same basket of goods and services as 3 years ago. As a result of the US’s current economic state, 69% of Americans have signaled that they have dialed back spending on extras and entertainment. 68% of Americans have stated that they have changed their grocery buying habits. 41% of Americans indicated that they have reduced their driving. 37% signaled that they’re incurring credit card debt to buy necessities. All of this can be blamed on the Biden regime’s inflationary policies in conjunction with its decision to expand the regulatory state which has made the US economy stagnate while inflation continues to rage. The EU, which pioneered the development of digital "vaccine passports," will next month launch a test run of its new EVC in five countries — Belgium, Germany, Greece, Latvia and Portugal. The card purports to "foster informed decision-making on vaccination, and improve continuity of care across the EU" and "aims to empower individuals by consolidating all their vaccination data in one easily accessible location." While the objectives of the program, set to be implemented throughout the EU by 2026, appear benign, critics argue the EVC is a stepping stone for mandatory vaccinations in the future. Some also argue the EVC is connected to large financial interests and plans to limit personal and national sovereignty. 'The plan is to get everybody vaccinated.' Terhorst said that while the idea of having one's medical records easily accessible and transferrable sounds benign, "The plan is to get everybody vaccinated and to kind of overrule constitutional rights." "It was very clear that the object was that anybody within the EU could not say no to … vaccination," Terhorst said. Terhorst said that the EVC and the EU’s digital vaccination certificate are “presented as different programs,” with the EVC being “rebranded as something completely different and completely new” — even though they are both based on “the same software,” she said. “They’ve been working on it for years and years and years. And it works perfect, and it’s all linked together like the banking infrastructure, the personal medical records, insurance, everything links into each other,” Terhorst said. ...the World Economic Forum (WEF) in January, said that digital ID is “very necessary” for the provision of a range of public services — and suggested it can be used to track the unvaccinated. “So basically, and this is I think very important for everybody to realize, it’s not about health, it’s about your money,” Terhorst said. “They want to make you into a kind of minion as somebody who’s not having real rights.” Noting that influential organizations such as the WEF and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have supported efforts to develop digital ID and digital vaccine passports, Terhorst said “Such an accumulation of power … is just incredible and it’s a direct threat for every citizen.” “The threat is that anybody objecting to vaccination, especially when there will be a new crisis [like] we’ve seen with COVID-19, then … perhaps your bank could say, well, then you cannot have access to your bank account,” Terhorst said, citing Canadian banks who froze the accounts of participants in the 2022 Freedom Convoy. It has now emerged that the government in London has started flagging content it deems to be “misinformation” – but also something referred to as “concerning content.” X [formerly Twitter] is among those who have been asked to remove posts which British officials consider to threaten the country’s national security; and while reports say Google, Meta, and TikTok are complying with these demands, X is said to be resisting them. The accusations that social sites are “providing a platform for hate” while allegedly unaccountable for that [which] is coming from cabinet members and MPs alike. Science, Innovation and Technology Secretary Peter Kyle has revealed that he and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper are working to get content they consider “harmful” removed from the internet. Recent actions in the UK regarding the apprehension of people for disseminating “incorrect information” highlight a concerning trend that threatens the very core of free speech – a foundational pillar of Western democracies. These developments suggest an alarming escalation in government and law enforcement involvement in regulating online speech, which traditionally enjoys broad protections under democratic norms. The use of existing laws, such as the Public Order Act 1986, to arrest people for their online speech is deeply troubling to civil liberties groups. While maintaining public order is a legitimate concern of the state, the broad application of these laws and combining accusations of “stirring racial hatred” with instances of alleged “misinformation” is supercharging an attack on free speech. The UK government issued a stern warning to its citizens regarding the risks of sharing potentially offensive content online, particularly in the context of the recent riots.
