A massive power outage in San Francisco that darkened 130,000 homes Saturday was further complicated as self-driving cars stopped in the middle of the street, triggering extensive traffic jams. While Pacific Gas and Electric Co.(PG&E) did not immediately say what caused blackouts, fire officials posted on X that at least part of outage was caused by a fire that broke out inside a PG&E substation at 8th and Mission streets. By nightfall, one third of San Francisco was dark, according to news reports. As a result, autonomous vehicles stopped in the middle of streets, unable to detect traffic signals that were no longer working. Waymo, the popular self-driving car service, temporarily suspended operations in the wake of the blackout, SFGate reported. Federal prosecutors say the Biden‑era border crisis produced one of the most brazen cybercrime cases in years. The Department of Justice charged 54 alleged members of the Venezuelan terror gang Tren de Aragua with using sophisticated malware to loot millions from U.S. ATMs and funnel the cash back to their criminal network. Prosecutors say the group deployed sophisticated malware to force ATMs across the United States to dispense cash, stealing millions of dollars and funneling the proceeds back to TdA leadership. The first indictment, returned December 9, 2025, charges 22 defendants with crimes including conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and bank burglary, computer‑related fraud, and money laundering. Prosecutors allege that TdA used the jackpotting scheme as a revenue stream to support its broader criminal activities, which span drug trafficking, extortion, kidnapping, and acts of violence throughout the Western Hemisphere. A previous October indictment brought similar charges against 32 individuals. The indictment includes 56 counts: one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud; one count of conspiracy to commit bank burglary and computer fraud; 18 counts of bank fraud; 18 counts of bank burglary; and 18 counts of damage to computers. The DOJ describes TdA as “a violent transnational criminal organization that originated as a prison gang in Venezuela in the mid-2000s. TdA has expanded its criminal network throughout the Western Hemisphere and established a presence in the United States.” Mass migration has caused one city in Massachusetts to resemble a foreign nation, as even its own mayor seems unable to speak or understand a word of English. As The Eagle-Tribune reported, Lawrence Mayor Brian DePena testified earlier this month during a hearing in support of former acting police chief William Castro’s appeal against revoked credentials from a 2024 traffic incident. According to WCVB, Castro “engaged in a motor-vehicle pursuit in violation of the policies of the Lawrence Police Department.” Moreover, he was “untruthful” regarding the chase while he and his superiors failed to investigate the incident independently. Lawrence is a city with approximately 89,000 residents. Over 80% are Hispanic. More than six in ten Jewish people in Britain are considering leaving the country amid rising antisemitism within the increasingly multicultural country. An annual survey from the Campaign Against Antisemitism has found that 61 percent of Jews in Britain are contemplating moving abroad, compared to 50 percent last year. The poll, reported by The Telegraph, additionally found that a majority of Jews (51 per cent) said that they do not see a long-term future for themselves in the United Kingdom, compared to 37 per cent in 2024. Furthermore, 45 per cent of Jewish respondents said that they do not feel welcome in the country anymore, and 83 per cent said that they believe the police do not do enough to protect them.
