Here's a suggestion for someone who has to go into a store but will be blocked for not wearing a mask.  One definitely defiant compliance idea...

Get some 6" wide petticoat netting fabric -- (remember those 60's poofy girls' slips that held dresses way out?) -- available online.  Consider getting it in black if you're white, or vice versa, so that a full mask is clearly visible on your face.  Sew the top edge to some bunting bias tape making it long enough to tie the mask on in the back.  Netting like this would allow you to breathe freely, unimpeded, yet you would still be wearing a mask in the store.  No?

On second thought, maybe a single layer of cheesecloth would be less scratchy, even if a little more difficult to attach to the cloth tape.  Obvious mask transparency is key.

Or maybe you ladies could just wear in a bridal veil but snugged up a little under your chin -- after all, you're preparing for your wedding anyway.  Or maybe even consider something stylish like Barbara Eden occasionally wore over her mouth and nose in "I Dream of Jeannie."

You could coin this 21st century facial genre "Defiant / Compliant" or something similar, and attach a stylized mysterious "DC" logo tag to subtly suggest you're actually patriotic.  Objections at stores would all be baseless because you'd be wearing a mask, and arguments might help force mask-insisters to struggle with their insanity, expecting any mask they could afford to actually filter out viruses.

Your enterprise could probably sell a bunch of these to us defiant conservatives (another possible "DC" meaning) all over the world!  Get in touch maybe with the Trump campaign who might like to associate with more "Determined Conservatives."

Better hurry though if you you are going to get in and hoping to prophet   from such an enterprise, 'cause we're virtually gone already.

:mdrmdr: The wedding veil over the head reminds me of some Middle East headgear (i.e. the burkas) some women are forced to wear.  They must be saying ‘oh, we are already in compliance’.  I wonder if the middle eastern men are forced to cover their faces now?  Perhaps this face mask requirement is also being used as mind control to condition the free world countries to accept middle eastern fashion?  I’m pondering now  ... will the AC require all the world to dress like the muslims?

I LOVE this idea!  My mom's town has now said masks required everywhere except when exercising outside...she can't stand wearing a mask very long - kinda claustrophobic feeling with them like me- she is a go-er and did her duty of quarantine when Trump said to and she's done...she is older but her quality of life involves socializing and going a lot...she is miserable at home alone for any length of time...it should be up to individuals to try to sort out facts and make own choices regarding their health and what risks to take...i am going to suggest some lace or netting...awesome!  her husband will totally do it himself!! :mdrmdr:

Per Wikipedia: "Groupthink is a psychological phenomenon that occurs within a group of people in which the desire for harmony or conformity in the group results in an irrational or dysfunctional decision-making outcome. Cohesiveness, or the desire for cohesiveness, in a group may produce a tendency among its members to agree at all costs. This causes the group to minimize conflict and reach a consensus decision without critical evaluation."

George Orwell hinted it might fully blossom a few decades earlier.  1984

Minimize conflict, huh?  I'll bet sometime soon non-critical thinkers will actually love Big Brother.
