Hi family, I'm due to visit my family this Christmas after many postponements over the last two months because of my van breaking down and not knowing the cause. I've been told the problem with my van is the alternator (I've purchased a replacement), but for no rhyme or reason, I can not get any garage or mobile mechanic to either come and install it or collect my van to take to their garage. I have the option (and tools) of trying to fit it myself, but that is going to take a supernatural intervention for the necessary strength and wisdom to do so safely and efficiently, as it will require lifting the front of my van using my trolley jack onto axle stands and securing it safely with bottle jacks, to be able to work on it from underneath. Anyway any prayers for help to see my family for Christmas will be gratefully accepted. YBIC, Loz Prayers for you, Loz. :prayer-hands: I’d imagine YouTube has videos on replacing the alternator on your van. It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything other than a brake job. The engine compartments are so tight these days and it seems that the manufacturers engineer their vehicles to be difficult to work on at home unless you have a good shop set up.
