If so, you have been gifted with a GREAT talent and never should take it for granted.   I wish I could hold a tune instead of sounding like a frog.  Even my puppy dog can’t stand when I’m singing ... he actually howls like a wolf when his ears hears awful noises.  If I keep it up, he then quickly dives under the blankets.  That’s when I tell him “ok I will stop and play a CD of a gifted artist”.  I often wonder what its going to be like at the praise ceremonies in heaven.  Will those who haven’t been bless with singing talent finally receive some abilities or not?  Or will the ears on our glorified bodies be able to take in the noise pollution and it sounds beautiful to everyone’s ears, including the animal kingdom?  If not ... for everyone’s sake ... I hope I’m not assigned to singing a long solo....

I believe we will all be able to sing when we receive our glorified bodies. I am a musician. I play a variety of instruments. But I do not have a gifted voice for singing. Of all the instruments I believe the human voice is the most beautiful. Since that instrument is contained within our body it seems to me that its talent has a bigger propensity to cause us to be prideful. The way I see it, God did not give me that talent because He could see that I may have difficulty handling my pridefulness and spared me from the outcome of it. I know some people with amazing singing voices and they have their pride, as best as I can tell, in check. They are able to handle such a gift. They have not used their gift for their own glory but to glorify God. I may have ended up in a rock band singing about the garbage that most rock bands sang about, dishonoring God and myself, so as much as I love to sing I am also glad for what I have, and what I do not have.

Yes, I agree music is very powerful and is used to calm a person.

I can’t help but think of when King Saul was vexed by an evil spirit he wanted David to play his harp.

I Samuel 16:23

“ .... David took a harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.”

I can make a joyful noise unto the Lord...emphasis on noise. I see a lot of bleeding eardrums when I sing though and have been deemed a weapon of mass destruction by the government which prohibits me from singing any more. :groan

:mdrmdr:  ... I’m almost certain I will be standing by you, brother and I can just see the angels will be placing us by those talented folks, who play the drums, so our voices get drowned out in the rumbling of the drum beat

Even when I'm in the house alone and in the shower, I still get complaints.

I can sing. Been studying opera and musical theatre for 27 years.

I tour a classical crossover group around the retirement communities in Florida.

We generally do oldies and pop but a few inspirational songs here and there too.

I cant wait to give Jesus His own personal concert someday!!! Grin
If you want to hear me, this is one of my crossover covers: https://www.reverbnation.com/clintshepherd/song/26778826-senza-catene--unchained-melody
