most Hebrew scholars believe that 2,300 days is the correct translation. No, they do not. Moreover, the number 2300 was a compromise between manuscripts which had either 2200 and 2400 Evenings and Mornings, which is not the same as "days." It started out as 2200 and some copyist repeated the words for 200, giving 2400 in some ancient version. Later on, it was decided that they would split the difference and render it as 2300. Nevertheless, the idiom refers to an evening and a morning sacrifice. In addition to that, the prophecy was fulfilled long ago by Antiochus Ephiphanes. The numbers do not correspond with what will be done by the future Man of Sin. He understands our frames and the longing of our hearts! Especially with regards to a divine authored love affair! He also truly loves and regards our prayers! He likes it when we turn to Him in all things. Being the ultimate supplier! Even so, He also knows what is best! I believe that all the prayers of the saints were already heard and answered before they were spoken!! As such He has already shortened the length of Tribulation days. TR By the way, welcome back Grumpy. Ditto! TR As to whether Daniel 8:14 is speaking of 2,300 days or 1,150 days I would offer the many translations to be seen at: https://biblehub.com/daniel/8-14.htm As for Antiochus Epiphanies being the one spoken of in Daniel chapter 8 he is. And so is the Antichrist. The angel went on to say "And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days." Daniel 8:26 This in reference to when the 2,300 days would come into play.
1,150 days are needed to make it work in the historic time frame of Antiochus Epiphanies.
Antiochus never "waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them."Daniel 8:10 (KJV)
The angel Gabriel tells Daniel that the vision is for the time of the end in verse 8:17.
