In response, some protestors have started wearing yellow badges shaped like the Jewish Star of David with the inscription "unvaccinated," drawing a comparison to the Nazis' persecution of Jews during World War II. "I've said for almost a year that there are some haunting parallels between the 1930s and the 21st century here with this COVID crisis," comments Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries. "A new group of people in the 21st century are becoming the new untouchables, the new yellow-starred people. And that's those who just choose for various reasons, and there are lots of reasons, to be unvaccinated for COVID." Broadway canceled show after show. Restaurants closed their kitchens. De Blasio’s successor, Eric Adams, who will take office January 1, nixed his inauguration gala. There has been no March 2020–style universal shutdown, but New York is not back anymore, baby. For Brent Young, who runs a butcher shop and two restaurants in Brooklyn, it began last week when, one by one, staff members tested positive. “It’s more or less decimated our workforce,” he says. One of his restaurants had been booked solid with parties for a week—the holidays are one of the busiest times of the year for restaurants—but people started canceling those parties too. At this point it’s not worth trying to stay open, Young says, “because the anxiety’s so high no one’s wanting to eat.” For most vaccinated people, Omicron will be mild. But even a mild cold, sufficiently widespread, can disrupt a city. Whatever the effect of a soft lockdown on the spread of Omicron, it will affect the economy too. Even if customers remain willing to go out, businesses will have to close when too many employees end up sick or get stuck in quarantine. None of that is coming this time. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/omicron-is-pushing-america-into-soft-lockdown/ar-AAS9zNl ...testing...i guess they know that's all it takes now...just keep testing and counting and freaking people out with numbers...even if they knew for certain that nobody would get sick worse than a cold now...probably so many are too wound tight from the original stuff and everything else going on i guess- they wore down so many to where there's no fight left in them so they just give up and comply and hide...or they turn to "escapes" of drugs and "spirituality" aka demon worship...it's so sad...i know our loving Lord has such good plans and blessings in store for all of us who have and all who will fully trust Him for salvation from being a slave to sin - including unbelief and no love of the truth- i wish i knew how to really help the scared and hurting and lost...i feel kinda lost as to how to help other than we financially support ministries we know are Biblical in gospel outreach and physical help for needy...and i try to pray more instead of getting depressed, but it's difficult sometimes (esp when know of own family members who are rebelling against &/or neglecting their relationship with our Lord)...i may take a break from staying aware of all that's going on in the world -out of trust of God's sovereignty and just step back and pray a lot...prob go ahead and join the local church we don't feel like we belong in, but maybe God has something for us to do there...but i'm tired and ready for that trumpet :flyup: i do trust His timing and His ways though...His grace is sufficient Standing right beside you Sis! The WHO says the plandemic will end if 70% of the world is vaxxxed. :negative: The acute phase of the COVID-19 pandemic could end by July 2022 if every country ends up vaccinating at least 70 per cent of its population, the World Health Organization says. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the WHO, said on Wednesday that if that target is reached by then, the world could start to move on from the current phase of the pandemic. “I want governments, industry and civil society to work with us on a campaign that targets 70 per cent vaccine coverage in every country by the start of July,” he said. “I still remain optimistic this can be the year we could not only end the acute stage of the pandemic, but also chart a path to stronger health security.”
