🙁

it helps to have friends to talk with. i enjoy cooking, having company for dinner

my husband relaxes being outdoors, and keeping bees. we look forward to honey. in years when the weather is good and there is enough pollen, spinning honey out of the frames in the spring and autumn. God reminds us of His wisdom and kindness from creation.

That is wonderful! My next door neighbor keeps bees so I always have a large mason jar of it on hand. God’s creation is just amazing! I’m constantly in awe of it.

Praise and worship music is definitely my escape.  I was going to say listening to JD, Amir, and others - but the reality is that does nothing but fuel my anxiety with all that is going on with the world - whereas praise and worship music puts me back in that state of peace.

I have also picked up a commercial sewing machine and am exploring leather crafting (purses, bags, Bible covers, belts, wallets, et al) and pushing towards upholstery.   My dad upholstered hot rod show cars for decades as a hobby and there's a peace that comes from hearing the mechanicals of the sewing machine going on for hour after hour.   I remember as a kid sitting by my dad just watching as he turned leather into amazing works of art.   Maybe its just a desire to return to the days of my youth in the early 60's when life was simpler.

Vicki, love that song!

Music of my generation mostly consisted of love songs, secular but celebrated intimate relationship!

These could easily be translated over and sung to Jesus!

Boulder,

Great idea! I too have given up on the news, it is what it is and I’d rather be uplifting to fellow believers, the news does not give me that mind set.
I also relax in quoting scripture, I’m a huge memory guru and encourage others to commit our Father’s Word to memory in order to preserve what may soon be outlawed.
Listening to praise music, mostly the Getty music and singers of the Psalms.
Talking with my Grandchildren, I have 13 and two live next door now, so it is a blessing to give the morsels of living for Christ and the beauty of this.
Attending church is about all the socializing I do, even as the Pastors wife, I’m limited now.
IF we are here in spring, I will begin my garden and I’m thinking about adding chickens and bees. I live to be in my garden. Not much I don’t grow. When my granddaughter and her friend helped to harvest the last of the potatoes this past September, it was great to see their excitement and joy.
Spending time with family is about it for now. I have a almost constant communication with the Father. That brings peace and a dunce of true reality. Looking forward to that trumpet as each moment passes. :prayer-hands:

Tammie, the fervor of our hope of being called out and up only grows more real with each passing moment for me as well!

Rather than trying to live on an emotional knife's edge 24/7 I now more often lean into trust!

Your bride awaits Lord!

So true TR - I find I am so much more detached from the earthly ongoing saga, it’s worse than any soap opera ever was (if I had watched them) ... even our favorite folks (JD, etc) tend to lean heavily on the things unfolding instead of uplifting and averting all eyes and ears upward.
I can envision our new dwelling, our Father’s face and our Savior, I work at feeling only His presence of Love. As David said “Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire but you ... Psalm 73:25

In my gardens working or piddling which is most every day living in the deep south. Just talking to the Lord or listening and constantly observing the beauty around me. It's just Him and me. When I am scared I just love to hold my Bible , sometimes close to my chest. Other times just saying His name, 'Jesus' is is an instant overwhelming peace.

I find that I need Him more  and more each day and so I need to feel that 'closeness' as Him being my CONSTANT Everything. He is so good to me :thankyou

Gardening brings me peace. I love inspecting the plants and looking for new and interesting things. I also love walking in the forest and enjoying God's wonderful creation.
