Indeed worldwide or large scale revivals are not promised in the scriptures for this time, that said the Spirit of God is still moving on hearts. Then we have to be specific with "revival" especially as it concerns it being spawned by work of men! Whatever revival takes place it will be an obvious move of the Holy Spirit! Reviving the minds, hearts and spirits of men with the focus upon the things of God, Jesus in particular! Doctrinal teachings and church membership aside, God alone must be given the glory, not the church! For therein is true revival!!! TR Jesus himself stated to his disciples, “do not hinder them, if they are for us, they are not against us” Mark 9:38-41 It does not matter if we do not interpret a last day revival … God’s plan has always been to “fill the Father’s house” and if he chooses to send out laborers into His harvest, then it is the body’s responsibility to pray for the work of God. Asbury had a collegiate day of prayer yesterday and it is determined they are going to keep following the leading of the Holy Spirit — maybe they are there for such a time as this. The movie about the “Jesus movement” with Johnathan (plays Jesus in the series “The Chosen”) comes out tonight — interesting timing. :prayer-hands: I have been following this Asbury University revival and hope this will change hearts and some of the far left cancel culture stuff that is infecting youth and young students and adults. This is very similar to what happened in 1970 at the then called Asbury College in Wilmore Ky. Years ago I watched a black and white video of it at the same Asbury college church chapel. But at the same time i am cautious about the beliefs of Asbury. They are a Wesleyan Holiness belief system that does not teach OSAS. They believe that salvation is a "progressive sanctification", "prevenient grace" and that one can fall from grace thru sin, the Arminian teaching that one can be saved but also loose it thru sin and backsliding. The SOF at Asbury University states that they accept a premillennial return of Christ for his church, but they don't say they believe in a pre tribulation rapture. However, I think the spread of this Asbury revival is a sign of the moving of the Holy Spirit in this twisted ungodly world. I pray that this revival will really make a difference and lead many to Christ for salvation. :prayer-hands: Watching47 — I would agree that the doctrine may not align with the fundamental doctrines of the Bible but my heart tells me that the point is the salvation of souls and as we should be leaving fairly soon, the doctrine issue may not matter at all, but the Father’s house will be full. Keep praying, it is still going and the generation it is reaching is the Woke generation. :prayer-hands:
It seems it is easier for us to analyze a work, dissect it, or even condemn it.
I heard John MacArthur say if this event, “when God moves in a mighty way, judgement is around the corner”. I think he may have hit the nail on the head —- gather in the harvest, the house is full, the Bride is taken to the Bridegroom, judgement falls!
We should be about our Father’s business - gathering souls, if you can’t go, pray for the work, pray for protection, pray for strength, pray for the battle! :prayer-hands:
See you all soon, the harvest is winding down —— :yahoo:
