A number of years ago, I was in the hospital and they came to take me away for surgery ahead of schedule before my husband arrived to see me that morning. I was upset and a nurse came, looked at the Bible on my table, and told me that she was my assigned nurse for the day and would be with me from that point, througout the surgery, and afterward. She then quoted Psalms and kept quoting as the orderly wheeled me down the halls to surgery. She walked along with my gurney being pushed by the orderly all the way to the operating room. The words she spoke and the conviction with which she spoke calmed me. I never saw this nurse again. When I returned to my room from recovery, I asked that nurse about the other nurse and described her and she seemed confused as to who that nurse might have been and why she would have followed me all the way to the operating room, nor why she would have told me she was going to be with me the whole time. Additionally, when the surgeon came to see me the next day, he told me that he had never seen such an invasive tumor that had not been cancer, but that the biopsy done during the surgery was benign. Then he said, “God heard our prayers”. Perhaps an angel paid me a visit. I had goose bumps reading your testimony, Joan. I had something similar but I think my nurse was not an angel. I had to drive myself to the ER back in Sept 2013 because I was in so much pain. The test results showed I needed to have my gall bladder removed ASAP. The stone was the size of an egg. I was very nervous and the Lord sent a believer nurse by the name of Esther to wheel me into the hospital room since my operation wasn’t until the next morning. She saw I had my Bible and she said she is saved and she prayed over me. It was very comforting and I wasn’t afraid any longer. The Lord also kept sending in other workers ... the cleaning lady, the nurse who took your blood pressure, the worker who changed the I.V, etc. they all said “what are you in for?” I said “I have to have my gall bladder removed”. They all said they had theirs removed and showed me their little scars. I was also able to witness to each one of them and gave them Bible tracts. They were all happy to hear the Good News! I thought it was funny here I am laying in a hospital bed, not in pain because the ER doctor gave me a high dose shot to stop the pain. He said on a scale of 1-10 what is your pain ... I said its a 20. So that shot lasted right up to surgery time. I thought it was so cool I didn’t have to leave my bed and the Lord kept bringing workers in to comfort me and I was able to share my faith. I hope to see them all in heaven. They were soooo kind. God is so good! Thanks for sharing beloved sisters! :rose: TR
