Every day should be just like Christmas, as the song says. Our traditions of Christmas have served well for those who could afford it. Sadly, Christmas time is not a time of joy for too many people! For me Christmas was the down payment of good faith on God's part. Because of Christmas, I can believe in the promise of His return as well! Joy in the world and peace on Earth has been a rare commodity indeed! The second installment of the Christmas fulfillment is found in the Rapture, or so it seems to me. I guess what I'm saying is that Christmas can never be premature. TR Interestingly “Joy to the World” is not a Christmas song even though it is sung at Christmas. If you read the words it describes what the Millennium period will be like. Joy to the World , the Lord is come! Joy to the World, the Savior reigns! No more let sins and sorrows grow, He rules the world with truth and grace, Our family has a trip planned for Christmas this year, but I would much rather our big present be that we fly up into the sky rather than go on our trip! :flyup: I say we take a vote! Should Christmas be our Rapture date, or not?! Christmas or Israel's anniversary of statehood? If Christ is indeed our template and all else only types and shadows, then Christmas day indeed holds tremendous potential. The fact that the world even celebrates Christmas at all let alone for two thousand years, speaks to more people than Chanukah could! The birth of Messiah recognized by history and most of the world. If there were a Christmas Rapture, it seems to me that it would be a fitting choice on God's part!!! TR Sounds good to me :good: ... a Christmas home going! Hey, I will even settle for a New Years Eve home going! While the world parties and celebrates watching the ball drop in Times Square ... the church disappears ... think of the chaos and confusion if it happens then. :whistle:
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.
