Ezekiel 38:18-21 NKJV To me, this seems to speak of infighting and a fragile coalition. So, Russia being at odds with Turkey over some issues would be perfectly normal. February 27th just when you think you’ve seen it all ... we now have the pope role playing into “Typhoid Mary” :mdrmdr: NYPost.com Pope Francis has come down with a “slight indisposition,” forcing him to cancel a planned Mass in Rome, just a day after he expressed his solidarity with coronavirus sufferers around the world — and as the disease continues to spread across Italy. The illness has forced the 82-year-old pontiff to nix a penitential Mass, marking the start of Lent, that he’d planned to celebrate at the St. John Lateran basilica across town with Roman clergy, the Vatican said. Francis will proceed with the rest of his planned work Thursday, but “preferred to stay near Santa Marta,” the Vatican hotel where he lives, officials said. The Vatican has not specified the nature of the pope’s illness, but he was seen coughing and blowing his nose during Ash Wednesday Mass. Meanwhile, 400 cases of coronavirus Three cases were reported in Rome, but each person has already recovered. During a General Audience in St. Peter’s Square on Ash Wednesday, the pope expressed his support for coronavirus sufferers. “I wish, again, to express my closeness to those who are ill with coronavirus and to health care workers who are caring for them,” he said, according to Vatican News. Francis has not specifically met with coronavirus sufferers, but shook hands with the faithful in the front row during the audience. He also kissed a baby during his popemobile spin through St. Peter’s Square and greeted visiting bishops. But the clergy members appeared to refrain from kissing his ring or embracing him as they normally would. - Fair Use - “Doubting Tomasa” here ... we got the Chinese willing to deploy 100,000 of their “special” ducks to Pakistan to help fight the locust problem. What could possibly go wrong ... Army of 100,000 Chinese Ducks on Standby to Combat Locust Swarms Alfred Cang 2/27/20 At least 100,000 ducks are expected to be sent to Pakistan as early as the second half of this year to combat a desert locust outbreak, according to Lu Lizhi, a senior researcher with the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The ducks are “biological weapons” and can be more effective than pesticide, said Lu, who is in charge of the project in tandem with a university in Pakistan. “One duck is able to eat more than 200 locusts a day,” Lu said in a telephone interview on Thursday, citing results of experiments to test the ducks’ searching and predation capabilities. A trial will start in China’s western region of Xinjiang later this year before the ducks are sent to Pakistan, Lu said Swarms of desert locusts have been spreading through countries from eastern Africa to South Asia, destroying crops and pastures at a voracious pace. The pest plague, together with unseasonal rain and a scourge of low quality seeds, has hit major crops in Pakistan’s largest producing regions, weighing on its already fragile economy. And it has also migrated into India. It will be crucial for China, which shares a land border with Pakistan and India, to prevent an invasion. However, China does have some shield in the form of the Himalaya mountains that stand as a barrier between the Indian subcontinent and the Plateau of Tibet. A group of Chinese agricultural experts visited Pakistan this week to help control the locust outbreaks as the plague moves eastwards, according to a report posted on the website of China’s consulate-general in Karachi. To gauge how serious a locust attack can be, look to Africa. The cost of fighting desert locusts in the continent’s east has doubled to $128 million, with more countries being affected each day, the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization said. The situation remains extremely alarming in the Horn of Africa, while there has been a significant movement of swarms over the Arabian Peninsula that reached both sides of the Persian Gulf, the FAO said in its latest locust watch report. - Fair Use - I'm sure they've never had Peking Duck served that way before. So they will wait until the second half of this year to deploy the ducks. Hmmmmm. I wonder how much damage the locusts will do between now and then. Seems to me if they are going to do this they should do it now, not four, five, six or so months later. But as Geri mentioned, what could possibly go wrong?  :mdrmdr: Yep ... I must confess I had a bite of Peking Duck in Chinatown San Francisco back in the late 1980’s. We each ordered a different meal and everybody shared and sampled the main dishes. I recall the Duck being very greasy and I didn’t care for it. :negative: The chicken and pork dishes were more edible or that’s what I think they were. B-) Unfortunately for the world, when the army of 200 million comes from out of the East during Daniel's 70th week, it ain't gonna be Chinese ducks... Just sayin'. So thankful we do not have to be here for that, and so sad so many will choose to go through it. Maybe their starting a new strain with teeth?! Ever heard of hen's teeth?! LOL Peking duck, good one David. Indeed it can get pretty complicated to have every jot and tittle of God's word fulfilled. I'm still having trouble identifying my left shoe from my right! Indeed all I can do is to agree with God's word, always. And say be Glorified Lord! TR Duck to kill locust, very interesting, what will control the ducks? A bit of trivia: because I once lived in Hawaii, I learned why there are no snacks in such a lust vegetation region. Mongoose, they where brought over in 1883 by the sugar cane farmers to control the rat population, but instead they ate birds and turtle eggs, then killed off the snakes. Now, in HI, they have to control the mongoose and with no snakes, it is interesting as they are listed as biological control gone bad. It is actually against the law in HI to own, bred, raise mongoose. B-) I had a Peking Duck for my birthday last year. It was excellent. This duck idea appears daffy, though. 😉
Judgment on Gog
18 “And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord God, “that My fury will show in My face. 19 For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel, 20 so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’ 21 I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. 22 And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. 23 Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’

have been confirmed in Italy, and 12 people have died. Most of the cases have been reported in northern Italy.
(Bloomberg) -- A troop of special Chinese ducks is waiting to be deployed to neighboring Pakistan to fight a swarm of crop-eating pests that threaten regional food security.
