Thought I would start a fun thread on food, delicious sumptuous food.  Even if the prophetic news slows down ... this thread should, hopefully, stay alive ... unless ... ahem ... you’re all fasting. B-)   If your main meal is not dinner please feel free to share what you made for breakfast or lunch.  If you plan on going out to eat ... name the restaurant or fast food place and what you think you plan on ordering ... oh ... and don’t forget dessert.

Ok ... today I’m making a small pot of chili ... very mild mild chili so my puppy dog can have some.    Will also bake a potato and add the butter, chives, chili, shredded lettuce and cheddar cheese. :yahoo:    Drinking a tall glass of ice tea to wash it all down.  Then later for dessert - 2 scopes of pistachio ice cream on a sugar cone.

:mdrmdr: “bringing in the sheaves”  Awe ... you sure had a gentle giant of a dog, Dan.

I’m leaning towards the heavenly animals will have new bodies kind of like our glorified ones in that they can eat and not make any more smelly cluster mounds of  waste.  I think they will be eating grass, grain or  veggies so perhaps they will be trained to go in the gardens?   Or if they do have accidents indoors ... I’m almost positive T.R  will be volunteering for clean up duties. B-)

"But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant."  So maybe TR could become the Grand Poobah maybe?

Or maybe he could develop a new line of Roomba automatically roving cleaning machines...  Think of it.  Our own beloved TR, the Roomba Grand Poobah!

:mdrmdr: :mdrmdr:  Yes, T.R. the  “Roomba Grand Poobah! :dieu:    Just give him a few gallons of brandy egg nog  and he will brainstorm the grandest roomba picker upper for the Kingdom castle.   His voice command of “Yabba dabba doo” will have it running. B-)

My dog is sooo afraid of that machine!  He barks at it and then when it changes direction and comes towards him ... he quickly makes a running jump for the sofa and hides under a blanket.

Brunch - egg omelet with cheddar cheese and sauté onions.  Hot Cocoa with marshmallows, whip cream and 3 cherries.

Dinner - small steak, bake potato, salad.

LOL!

The only thing grand about me is my ego.  I'm hoping to loose that forever!

Indeed we shall enjoy His animal creation in glory.  And will also enjoy satisfying our every desire in Heaven, culinary and otherwise!  Apart from this, the specifics elude me.

I dare say that I don't expect animal droppings to occur in Heaven.  No death, no waste, no mess!

But if anyone's ideal Heaven clashes with mine, I'll just blink it out of existence.  How's that for ego?!

Well I don’t think you have an ego ... you’ve been such a good sport putting up with all our teasing.

I agree with you ... no worries of animal accidents in heaven.  But if there is ... well then you can wish it gone and our guardian valet or footmen angels will suddenly appear with a mop and heaven scent liquid cleaner and they will have everything sparkly clean and golden once more!   B-)

Speaking of Bon Appetite, may the Lord give us all a foretaste of Heaven in this life!

Making BBQ chicken in the crockpot, the sides will be honey glazed carrots, homemade coleslaw and applesauce.

Dessert will be a Banana Split - with vanilla ice cream, caramel topping, whip cream, walnuts, cherries.

TR, you volunteered, "But if anyone’s ideal Heaven clashes with mine, I’ll just blink it out of existence."  Sounds a lot like Barbara Eden of the "I Dream of Jeannie" sitcom back in our youth.  So if she's up there blinking back, who should win?  It's good that Solomon will be around somewhere.

Good catch Dan!  Even Solomon couldn't figure out women.  Just human nature.

Yep, Solomon sure was a complex character with all that wisdom he was granted from the Lord.

From “Men of the Bible” by Ann Spangler & Robert Wolgemuth

He orchestrated the building of a palace and the temple, a permanent house of worship and an apt dwelling place for the Ark of the Covenant.  Built to elegant specifications, this holy building mirrored Solomon’s love for God and his eye for beauty and attention to the smallest detail.

Politically, he organized the kingdom into 12 districts and appointed governors over each one.

Educationally, Solomon held clinics and “described plant life, from the cedar of Lebanon to the hyssop that grew out of the walls.  He taught the people about animals and birds, ... gasp ... reptiles and fish :negative: .”  A lover of the arts, Solomon spoke 3,000 proverbs and his songs numbered 1,005.

But in the end, Solomon’s wisdom could not save him.  All that wisdom and great accomplishments Solomon was a failure because of his unwillingness to “keep God’s statues”.  His insatiable appetite for foreign women was his down fall.

Cooking up a storm this morning.   Made BBQ chicken in the oven, sautéed and caramelized the onions and added to the French style green beans. Baked potato with melted cheddar cheese.  Dessert was chocolate and vanilla ice cream banana split with whip cream.  Washed it all down with a tall glass of sweet ice tea.

I skipped breakfast so this was my New Year’s lunch/dinner.

Everything went well this morning.  Good weather ... and the wisdom tooth extraction was quick without any problems. :thankyou  so much for your prayers!   Note: yesterday we had freezing rain/snow and tomorrow another storm is coming ... but today the Lord kept the storm clouds away and its sunshine!

Breakfast - hot pretzel and banana

Lunch and dinner will be Heavenly Hash flavor Ice Cream since I’m not allowed to eat solid foods for the rest of the day. I’m not complaining, not at all.  B-)

Took my wife out to dinner for her birthday.  A nice sushi restaurant.  She had the sushi, I had Terayaki beef and cucumber salad.  Enjoyed the meal.

Any offers me any sushi, I'll be looking for a fishing pole to go with it!

That Terayaki beef meal with cucumber salad sounds delicious!  Glad you weren’t tempted for the sushi.  Chicken adobo ... I never heard of it so I googled the ingredients ... it sounds delicious along with the egg roll and onion rings.

I skipped breakfast ... lunch was Swedish meatballs over fettuccini noodles.

2 scoops of Heavenly Hash ice cream and small can of Cherry Coke.

Ooh la la. T.R  my mouth is watering for the Beef burritos at Taco Bell and nacho’s and cheese  and BBQ chicken sandwich!

Taco Bell is not in my town so I do the next best thing ... I buy the frozen mild burritos at the local grocery store for 50 cents each.  Then add cheddar cheese and microwave for 2 minutes.  So easy and cheap meal.   Tonight I’m finishing up on the Swedish meatballs and fettuccini.

That sounds great.  I prefer enchilada's myself.  Love Mexican rice.  Chili Colorado and Chili Verdi.  Hate re-fried beans.  Can't stand cilantro!  But I love anything with a sauce!

That's what I like about certain international foods, is their various sauces.  Usually it's a cold sandwich or some Top Ramen noodles.  But I do enjoy meat and potatoes and gravy.

Now you went and did it!  You've given me an appetite.  Oh bother, guess I'm just gonna have to eat again.

Was it no lines no waiting?

I’ve been craving chicken fried rice ... I’m thinking of trying to make a batch from scratch at home.  Looking at all the on-line recipes that claim its easy peasy and has the best reviews ...

That was smart thinking.

I’m still craving chicken fried rice ... I haven’t made the home version ... I need to buy a lot of sauces - between the soy sauce, sesame oil, duck sauce or sweet n sour sauce ... this is getting to be too expensive to make. LOL

Tonight I’m having Lean Cuisine butternut squash raviolis with chopped carrots, red peppers and peas.  Heating up 2 boxes in the microwave because its waaaay too lean with just 1 box. B-)
