Cool … ya … we have those BIG woodies… plus lots of Downy Hairy ones …like this. They sure are entertaining … they make this clicking sound and scare off the other birds. This one we called baby Huey because he was huge and would cling to the wire mesh and would often fall asleep that way. Then he would wake up and cry out for his momma and she would arrive and she would feed him “peanut delight suet” … he was bigger than her. :mdrmdr: Unless this was her lazy husband. B-) Then there are the yellow finches and we had a thistle sock for them. And we had another feeder with sunflower seeds and various nuts and that attracted the Cardinals, Blue Bunting, Mourning Doves, etc. So many amazing and beautiful birds that God created. Birds, butterflies, flowers are all so beautiful and with such huge varieties in each. The world has no excuse for denying God. When I lived in the forest years ago near Colorado Springs, woodpeckers became my enemy. I must have had at least 1,200 trees on my five acres, but what did the woodpeckers decide to peck?? Scores of mid-size and little holes in the siding of my two story outbuilding!! The tapping, whenever I heard it, would send me into an irrational and unwanted rage! And me without a pellet gun! Hmmphhh! Patience wasn't the virtue in that case; rather the virtue turned out to be patching. And high up on a ladder to boot! Sheesh!! I learned that woodpeckers only went after trees that were decayed??? That is a lot of decaying trees for a 5 acre spread :mdrmdr: True the number and beauty of God’s is totally amazing — we have been vacationing near Hersey PA and have seen a lot of cattle, deer, and reindeer. It has been a warm winter so far but I hear snow is on the way.
