I have wondered more than once, ~ ~ why didn't God create me (us) to be His Heavenly angels? ~ ~ They experience no heartache or sorrow, no pain or tragedy, ~ ~ these Heavenly creatures get to enjoy the fullness of God ~

. . ever in Christ's Light and Love these angels live on God's Holy mountain, ~ ~ aglow in His Heavenly Jerusalem, they experience up close our Majestic God . . wow . . . . ~~

Jesus patiently reminds us that in eternity His very sons and daughters will one day 'rule' the angels ~ ~ Jesus announces to believers we shall sit with Him at His Heavenly Throne . .

. our Father God has given to His dear beloved saved in Christ an inheritance! ~ chosen and destined for His Glory as He wills.

I love the power of God's Holy Spirit and all our Triune God is ~ ~ our God has invested immeasurably too much of HIMSELF in us to not save us who desire His Son .

and soon at His Rapture call, . He will seize up close in His arms, and show us the value of His Power and Authorship and Finisher of our faith in Jesus . ~

oh, the GLORY and WISDOM and POWER and the RICHES of our GREAT GOD! ! ~

The earth a mere speck, and YET our Creator God Jesus names each star within the millions of galaxies . . our Exalted and Sovereign GOD ALSO KNOWS our names!   .. . He KNOWS you and me! Even more unfathomable and true IS our LORD invites us to KNOW HIM ~~

Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name, by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing. ~ ~ ~ Isaiah 40:26
OH! ~ ~ How Great Is Our God!

I’ve been thinking about this subject lately about the angelic job duties in eternity.  Right now they are administering spirits to guard and protect us from harm but once we all get to heaven … they will no longer have that role assignment.  I don’t think they will have to protect the millennial people since Jesus is in charge and ruling with a rod of iron … so then … will they have “other duties” like … they become our personal assistants?  Perhaps washing our clothes?  Cooking for those who don’t feel like cooking?  Or if we order take out meals/desserts from various restaurants, bakeries, ice cream parlors, etc  do we assign them to pick up the orders?  Or if our residence, after a partea, is messy … we call them and they are the clean up crew and they ALSO do the dishes. B-)

And how about movie theaters (seeing all the Bible stories) come to life to watch and the angels are handing out popcorn, candy and drinks to us? :mdrmdr:

That makes me uncomfortable, Geri.  I want to serve God and also others, whether brides of Christ, mortals, or angels, as each has need.  Maybe just win an occasional "Mr. Nice Guy" ribbon from friends throughout eternity.

Jesus said, “You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.  But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all.  For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

I don't believe that paradigm will change.  And the Almighty King of kings will still serve His bride... No?

Well I’m not saying we won’t have job assignments … we will still serve.  I personally lean the babies/young kids that died young, if their parents didn’t make heaven, we will be raising/teaching them.  But the way I see it the millennials will still have their human body and it will required them to have at least 8 hrs sleep.  So … we all catch a break to do either our favorite hobbies, entertain family/friends and have fun adventures in heaven, on the earth or space traveling before having to head on back at work again for the next day.  B-)

The angel I encountered looked like he belonged on a either a sail boat or a Love Boat cruise ship.     I’m sure Gavin MacLeod will probably be assigned the Captain title on that cruise ship. :mdrmdr:

Angels are administering spirits … so they might continue their role but as laundry mat attendants, tailors, master chefs, cleanup crew …

Here is another take - maybe the angels are looking forward to our redemption since maybe their jobs will get easier.  They are ministering spirits but maybe they have other ministering jobs as well in addition to us.  Here’s what I wonder:

Maybe in the beginning the angels were given the job of administering things like the weather and winds maybe wind speed and direction - we see biblical evidence from Revelation that they are given control to hold back the winds - so just for argument sake, lets suppose that they are in charge of God’s physical creation and administer things like the wind, the rain etc. etc.

So now, most believe that 1/3rd of the angels followed Satan into rebellion, so only 2/3rds of the workforce is left, and then Adam and Eve fall into sin and God tells His faithful 2/3rds of the workforce that remain, to watch over us and guard us too.

We have all had jobs like that where workers leave or are fired or whatever and those of us faithful workers have to pick up the slack, and then some new task comes along that the boss says “ I know you are busy with your other duties, but could you take care of this for me too, it won’t be permanent, just for a little while.” And we say sure boss, because we’re loyal employees right?

So I wonder if this is like this with the angels - maybe we are just a temporary assignment until the creation is restored?  Maybe they are looking forward to our redemption so their workload can return to normal levels?  Who knows, I could not nor would not be dogmatic about any of this - just letting my mind wander a little bit on a Tuesday afternoon and speculating about these things……
