In the 70's and 80's it seemed to be one of the premier giftings in operation. Haven't really heard if this gift being manifested for some time. I wonder why? Or have I been missing it? TR TR I think you are referencing one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit as described below: 1 Cor 12:8 “ For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,” In some aspects I believe we have seen this as many of the prophecies we have watched come to pass. It has been a form of enlightenment over the last 10 years. Our knowledge of spiritual concepts and prophecy has increased. Ephesians 1:18-19, “ The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,” We have some believers who have increased knowledge in the heavenly bodies, others in numerical interpretations, others in birth pains and consistent changes in weather and seismic activity, while some search the headlines daily finding more clues to the unfolding of prophecy. Not sure if this is the venue you are meaning. Well said Sis. But I indeed was making reference to words of knowledge given on a personal level. Seemingly from God's own throne! But you do make very valid points. TR In other words, where are the Prophets for individuals rather than for the nations?! TR There seems to be some diversity of opinion as to the exact meaning of "word of knowledge" and "word of wisdom." Is these utterances regarding things which could not be known by natural means and spoken as a personal prophecy, or is the gifting in the area of communicating effectively? There are very wise and knowledgeable people out there, some from much study and others from what is seemingly beyond their experience. There are those who have wisdom and knowledge, yet lack the ability to make others understand. Then there are those who know things that only God could have shown them and they pass that along to others.
