I have heard some scholars speculate that Adam and Eve were in the Garden approximately 7 yrs.

Not too much conjecture though on this issue.

Interesting with  perhaps being 7 years .... it might have taken Adam a while to name all the animals, plants, trees, fruit, etc.  I wonder if he had to write everything down so he wouldn’t forget?  :mail:

There is no way to pin down the time between creation and the fall, really.  I've seen speculation that it might have involved the number "40," as that is sometimes given as the time of testing, whether 40 days or 40 years.  For example, Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights.  The temptation of Christ parallels that of Adam and Eve, as He was the "last Adam."  Basically, Christ was tempted with the "lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life," just as Eve was.

Archbishop Ussher suggested that Adam sinned on the Day of Atonement.  There may be hidden reasons for why God set up His calendar the way He did.  We can't be sure of anything.

Since Adam could prophesy, the names would have been meaningful and not random sounds.

Again from my perspective, I first agree with David as well as with most theologians.  The Garden experience was a time of testing.  We failed.

But sadly, many are deluded into thinking that we should endeavor to enter back in the Garden.  Wrong! IMHO.

Many teachings and promises are indeed Garden centered.  I ask why?

I don't want to be stuck in this flesh and blood body forever, I want a glorified body! Heaven will much more grand than the Garden could ever be.  I don't want to move backwards, but rather upward!

Once our innocence was lost, it can never be retrieved.  The same can be said about our virginity.  But as I posted elsewhere, the message of false prophets and teachers is that they will forever promise roses and rainbows.  Regardless of what God hath spoken.  This is what makes it all false!

We don't need to be ill, we don't to struggle, we don't need to age or die!  The pantheon of lies from false prophets of today is endless! Please forgive my apparent anger against such.

I've heard speculation that the Garden of Eden could've been where the Temple Mount is today, or at least where Solomon's garden was. Kingly gardens, in ancient days, was believed to be where the gods communed with the Kings.

God knowing that man's rebellion would also eventually surface, it seems fitting that God allowed the enemy access into the Garden to facilitate His purposes.

After Lucifer's and the angels rebellion against God, He fashioned our home here on Earth rather than in Heaven.  This is why we must all be tested, for this cause that none should ever enter the Lord's home that didn't love Him!

And as we count and calculate the days of history seeing how exacting God's times are, perhaps Satan's entrance in the Garden was to help precipitate God's timing as well?!

Indeed the Garden and every day since has been a time of testing.  But with the cross of Christ, our victory is resurrection!

Aha ...

As I was unpacking today I came across this book called “Mysteries of the Bible Now Revealed”.  I never got a chance to read the book yet ... so I was skimming through it and just saw in Chapter 1  Grant Jeffrey talks about the names of 25 trees encoded in Genesis 2 ... here they are:

Vine
Grape
Chestnut
Dense Forest
Date
Acacia
Bramble
Cedar
Nut
Fig
Willow
Pomegranate
Aloe
Tamarisk
Oak
Poplar
Cassia
Almond
Mastic
Thorn Bush
Hazel
Olive
Citron
Fir
Wheat (related to Tree of Knowledge)

Sooo  the question now is what fruit does the Wheat tree produce?

OK ... since we know the Knowledge of Good and Evil was a “Wheat” tree  ... I was doing some research of what the fruit might have been. :mail:

Since nobody came forth with their view yet ... here is mine ...

Wheat is a major ingredient in such foods as:
bread, porridge, crackers, biscuits, Muesli, pancakes, pasta and noodles, pies, pastries, pizza, polenta and semolina, cakes, cookies, muffins, rolls, doughnuts, gravy, beer, vodka, boza (a fermented beverage), and breakfast cereals.

I’m focusing on the donuts.  Why?  Because of 2 things:

  1. “A popular Israeli folktale holds that the word "sufganiyah" (Jelly Donut) comes from the Hebrew expression "Sof Gan Yud-Heh" ("סוף גן יה"), meaning "the end of the Garden of the Lord"[6] (referring to the Garden of Eden)”
  2. Jelly Donuts are also eaten during the celebration of  Hanukkah

Sooo could it be the Knowledge of Good and Evil wheat tree contained a batch of Jelly Donuts hanging from the branches and this is what Adam and Eve took a bite out of?

Or ... do I need to go back to the drawing board in more research?   B-)
