Tammie, try rubbing okra with olive oil and grill it. It is nothing like any way you've had it before. The offensive slimy nature disappears when its grilled.

Woohoo ... I DO like asparagus!  But it hast to be sautéed with a little olive oil, sprinkled parmesan-Romano cheese AND almond flakes.

I never had okra ... must be a south of the border dish since the only people I know that talk about it ... live deep deep deep South.  How about fried green tomatoes?  I never tried them but I wouldn’t mind trying them.

Eek so Okra is offensive and slimy??  Okay ... never mind I’m scratching that off my bucket list. :negative:   I should have known ... anyone who likes gator and snake meat doesn’t mind slimy Okra. 🙁

Ooh ... correction ...  I googled what Okra taste like and it said

“Okra has a mild, almost grassy flavor that is uniquely okra. While it's sometimes compared to the taste of eggplant or green beans ...”

I LOVE eggplant but it hast to be fried ... dipped in flour and egg mixture first.  So I think I might like Okra if I do the same and just add tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.  Yum!
