I have come to these conclusions:

1. we will not have foreknowledge of the day

2. we know we are in the season

3. to the best of our ability we are to be about our Lord's business, witness, pray, love as long as we are here

4. we are to keep looking, keep encouraging each other.

Just as JD has said many times, prophecy has a shelf life, the things in this world are either moving towards it or away from it.......we all know we are moving towards it. None of us thought we would be here this long, but some 2000 years ago Peter knew we would feel this way..

2 Peter 3

Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), 2that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of [a]us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5For this they willfully forget: that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water, 6by which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

8But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward [c]us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

The Day of the Lord
10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be [d]burned up. 11Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Be Steadfast
14Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.

17You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.

Our failures to isolate and predict the Rapture after some two thousand years only serves to reinforce the fact that God is in charge!  His ways are not always ours and His timing sometimes leaves much to be desired from our perspective!  That said, we continue to occupy and take this time to draw ever closer to His heart and Will!  TR

Still ever hopeful of the closest possible day yet knowing that day is unknowable!  If that doesn't demand faith and love, nothing does!  But rather than isolating on all the negatives and the mounting evil and wickedness, et all!  My visions of the glories of the Rapture and Heaven sustain me!  Looking ever towards His sovereignty, majesty and  His lovingkindness keeps my heart afloat!  In the end, I am a realist!  God is real, Heaven is real, the Rapture is real!  TR

TR I am with you — I am a realist - God is exactly who he says he is and what he says is truth so as he gave us in Romans 8:24-25 - “For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.“. The next verse is what many know Romans 8:26 “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”. …. Can you hear the cries that the Father hears from the Holy Spirit as he groans for us before the Father, of us who long for our call home …

We are not to panic. We are children of the light. Jesus told us iniquity/lawlessness would abound, and the love of many would grow cold.

We have been told what will happen so that we will have peace in knowing that God is in control and victory is certain.

Let nothing shake your faith or move you away from the hope of the gospel.

Jesus is the Only hope for everyone. One of our main instructions as God’s servants is to make disciples of all nations. First and foremost, especially now. People who might not have been willing to hear about Jesus last week might be scared and ready to listen now.

Always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that what you do will be rewarded. We can always pray. We can offer to listen, we can comfort, we can console.

We can take our earthly resources, time, talents and supplies, and make them multiply for the things that count in eternity: God’s glory and people’s souls.

It is more important than ever that the child of God hear God’s voice for themselves. If we are still breathing, God has a purpose for us. The very safest place on earth is the center of God’s will.

When you turn your life over to the Lord, He will see to it that all your needs are met, so you won’t have to worry at all about what tomorrow might bring (Matt 6:31-34). He will see that everything works together for your good (Romans 8:28). He will give back to you all out of proportion to what you give to Him (Luke 6:38). He will make you rich in every way so you can be generous on every occasion (2 Cor. 9:11), and you’ll be storing up untold treasure in heaven (Matt. 6:19-21) as well.

To occupy till He comes is to be engaged in the conduct of the business He has called us to.

But God never forces any of His children to do anything. The single condition for our salvation is to “believe in the One He sent”
