I was excited to see the new crop of tangerines at Costco and picked up a bag of them a week ago.  I finally got around to trying them on Wednesday and noticed that they had zero taste.  It didn't dawn on me until later that day when my chest congestion began and by Thursday morning I felt like I was drowning.   Fortunately I remembered all the suggestions here and the one thing that helped me the most was Mucinex.   Without that I'm sure I would be in the hospital.   Thursday and Friday were horrible days -- I went in Friday evening for a COVID test and did the rapid test.  The medical assistant said it would take 20 minutes if it was negative and sooner if it was positive.  No more than 3 minutes later and it beeped and she looked shocked and said "oh no".   Definitely positive.   My medical provider called me and put me at the top of the list for monoclonal antibodies and paramedics will be here on Monday (tomorrow) morning to give me the infusion.    Being 64 with asthma has its advantages apparently.    This stuff is horrible -- I pray that none of you are exposed or get it.   I'm feeling a little better today (Sunday) but also know that people get better before they get worse and am hoping the monoclonal treatment keeps me from getting worse.

Dear Lord, please restore your beloved son Todd's health!  Mitigate and minister to his symptoms!

Be evermore near during his days of recovery and in very tangible ways!

We pray in our beloved name of Christ!

Todd, I’ve had the poison twice now, second time I was a false negative per the rapid, but in all of it … God is faithful! My lungs are permanently scarred, my smeller took about 6 months to get back to normal the first time, and I still carry a “smokers” cough (I have never smoked). It is real … I took a z-pack the first time and the second time I had Ivermectin (worked like a charm). My Mom caught it from my daughter who caught it from, we don’t know, and I almost lost my 80 year old mom (fought very hard to keep her out of the hospital, probably why I picked it up a second time, helping the both of them. It has been a rough 6 weeks. Keep taking Vit C, D, Zinc and glutathione if you can … keep your sugars out of your diet and drink as much water as you can, till you feel like you will float away (unless you have a cardiac condition, of course). Pray, pray, pray! I reached out to a peer via Telemedicine from American Frontline Doctors to get the Ivermectin for us (it ain’t cheep, but worth every pretty penny). May God be with you and keep you going brother!

:prayer-hands:  For quick healing!

Do you know how you think you caught it?   I’m glad the Mucinex pills helped!

Thank you Tammie -- and thank you for the recommendations....   I can relate to the smokers cough.   I grew up with asthma and always seemed to contract bronchitis once a year so I'm already compromised.   Just ready for all of this to be over and to be back home where we belong.

I have had it and it was fairly mild. Just a slight headache, runny nose and lethargy. Lasted about 5-6 days. Everyone is unique, though, and experiences it in a different way. (Probably also because they have released many different varieties.)

Praying for a swift recovery for you, Todd. :prayer-hands:
