If you've been around here for awhile or if you know me well enough then you will also know that I am not at all a fan of NDE (near death experience) reports. That doesn't mean I do not believe that they happen it's just that practically all the cases I've read or heard have been debunked or are just too difficult to believe. I started reading NDE books back in the late 70's when Life After Life came out. From that point on I bought every book about NDE's that I could get my hands on. My favorite for many years was Caught Up Into Paradise by Dr. Richard Eby but years later he claimed that the Lord told him that he would live to see the rapture. Dr Eby died in 2002. That kinda squashed his credibility. And then there is the utterly ridiculous testimony by Kat Kerr. And on and on. Every book I read was fake. Even Heaven Is For Real has too many holes in it. So I tend to be rather jaded when it comes to people's claims on heavenly tourism. Again, it doesn't mean I don't believe in NDE's but I am not quick to believe them. But I do not think one's stance on the subject has any bearing on foundational doctrinal theology so when people post these things here on Rita I just simply don't engage in the conversation. I see no reason to put a cloud over something that brings joy to others if it is not in opposition to Scripture.  So why I even bothered to watch this video is a mystery to me, especially since it is 30 minutes long and I don't have 30 minutes to waste on such things but for some reason I clicked the play button and watched. Of all the NDE's I've heard or read about this one is the closest one I have found that I actually believe could be true. For those of you who like NDE's I believe you will like this video. I hope it brings a sense longing for the Lord to those who choose to watch it.

It seems that God led you to this for whatever reasons Yohanan. It's right and good to discern with each NDE, if it speaks to our spirit or not. Even tho I believe I had the start of one back when. I felt that amazing unknown before peace and love, and whatever it was, I wanted to stay there! But - I wasn't saved then. I guess the Lord knowing that, made sure i went back, knowing I would become a believer.

This man's NDE is very believable and I want to listen to it a second time!

Yohanan - I have always been Leary of NDE but this one seems at least humble. Much of what he described as seeing and hearing in the hospital is valid. We use a Lucas device to do chest compressions for cardiac arrest and the “tubes” in his mouth would have been connected to the ventilator, so this information is pretty accurate. His description of the sense of love is amazing and compelling and makes me very excited to be in that as well… I know we are very close and soon we will all be able to experience Jesus up close and personal too and without death —-

What speaks to me the most is not fields of flowers, perfect blue skies, mansions, streets of gold. All of that is fine but puny next to being in the presence of Jesus! To me, THAT is heaven! Jesus IS heaven! So that it was the center of his experience is what rang truth to me. That is what every true believer really wants……Jesus!

I was sent the same video in my inbox this morning, along with these scriptures:

His experience confirms Scripture that God is Love and Light and does not condemn his children. :bible

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5

He that loves not knows not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, in that God sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 1 John 4:8-9

For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1 John 3:11

And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. Rev 21:23

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2

For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.  He that believes on Him is not condemned: John 3:17-18

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputes not iniquity, Ps 32:1-2

God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them 2 Cor 5:19

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor. Eph 5:2
