Ah TR we're practically neighbors!   Love eastern Washington - I was born in The Dalles and grew up in Vancouver and now live in Portland.

Alright, so who broke the sky?!  I didn"t do it, and you can't prove a thing!

If Washington is God's back yard, can't wait to see His front yard yard!

Yep, you guys in Washington state and in Oregon and Northern California really have the best of both worlds with the ocean close by and the woods.  I knew someone who retired to Oregon ... his backyard was the ocean and his front yard was the woods.  In heaven ... I would LOVE to have just the opposite ... ocean view front yard and the backyard can be the pool, the woods, rivers and lakes.  B-)

40th anniversary of the Mount St.  Helens volcanic eruption.  40 is a significant number.  Smile

@arthur I was at the south-western flank of Mt. St. Helens on the day that it erupted.  My cousin and I were on the upper stretches of the Kalama River (in an area we weren't supposed to be) that morning.  We were up close and personal - the roar of the eruption was unbelievable - and we could see rocks the size of houses flying out of the mouth of the volcano - as well as lightening in the ash cloud.   Fortunately it blew north - otherwise that would have been our last fishing trip - ever.

Wow!  Must have been an amazing sight! Our family drove through Washington State that summer and I remember seeing a lot of ash in places.  I have been there a few times to see the remainder of the mountain.  A very beautiful area,  that's for sure.
