From my previous post, I have calculated a timeline of 70 jubilees. But 70 jubilees is not in the bible. How can we be sure that God does ordain a period of 70 jubilees? I think the answer may lie in the 490 years prophecy in Daniel 9, known as 70 weeks prophecy.

The possible origin of Daniel's 490 years prophecy.

Jeremiah 34 is a prophecy against Zedekiah. His cities would be forsaken by King Nebuchadnezzar, and he would die in peace.

After Zedekiah heard his destiny, he proclaimed liberty unto his people. But later on he regretted what he has done, and caused the servants and the handmaids, and brought them into subjection.

This prompted God's words on Zedekiah again.

12 Therefore the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, 13 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen, saying, 14 At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.

15 And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name: 16 But ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom ye had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.

17 Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ye have not hearkened unto me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbour: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

My focus is verse 14.

14 At the end of seven years let ye go every man his brother an Hebrew, which hath been sold unto thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not unto me, neither inclined their ear.

This is repetition of the Law in Exodus 21:2 and Deuteronomy 15:12. Every six years they serve them, they have to let their Hebrew brother go free for one year. Immediately I thought of 70 jubilees and Daniel 70 weeks prophecy.

If God does ordain a 70 jubilees on His people Israel, this may answer the origin of 70 weeks prophecy.

70 jubilees = 70 X 49 years = 3430 years.

During these 3430 years, for every 6 years, they need to let their Hebrew brother go for 1 year.

3430 divided by 7 = 490 years

During these 3430 years, there should have been 490 years of proclaiming liberty to their brothers. But their forefathers did not hearken to God's words, even this generation. For these 490 years they did not hearken to God, God transforms them into 70 weeks prophecy, in order to finish their transgression, to make an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

I appreciate any study of God's word! Since God hasn't given me the Rapture's date personally, I'm open.  But must always defer to the Spirit's bearing witness.
